The Morecambe Hotel

First time here for a couple of years. Food and service faultless. We chose from the Christmas menu. All beautifully cooked and tasty. Friendly and helpful staff. A lovely evening in very pleasant surroundings. Definitely recommended. Thank you.

this is a nice eating pub with a brilliant garden, especially for those with children, but they need more staff in the service. every time we were, we had a pretty wait for eating and drinking, as it doesn't seem to be enough personal. to wait for the tables and serve behind the bar (and check in the guests).

for a family meal was booked a menu for preordering was sent. we arranged the day before and were not told any problem if not in a hurry order in the night. it was opened and the menu was found. the manager tried to speak out and to blame the problem to us and was not understandable and rude. we will never use this pub or restaurant again.

Lunch catchup with friends, we were seated menus given quickly. We ordered drinks which did take about minutes to arrive, which was ok I guess. The food was fine, but we shouldn’t have had to ask for sauces etc, this would always have...been offered before closing for covid. That ‘Nothing is too much trouble’..........sadly, has gone. Something is lacking now its such a shame, that friendly family atmosphere that the cambe hotel was known for.........well its just not there anymore.

many thanks to the chef and the staff that served me, two sons and daughter-in-law yesterday evening they were very helpful to make our evening meal so extraordinary. we have ordered our choices and my daughter-in-law, who is on. a diet and wanted a light salat meal that could not find on the menu. both the waitress and the chef himself came out personally and went through a menu that he would make especially for them. we were so impressed by the carelessness that was given to us all and in the fact to all employees. well made to the cambe hotel for excellent service.

we had what a fabulous Mother's Day dinner. of course the restaurant was very busy as well as the garden because it was a wonderful day, but the service was top notch independent of the customer numbers. eating (three of us had fryed, my...man had the burger) was simply raised, adding a mini-home cake with the roasts was a welcome surprise. I had requested the garden space, but we were taken to the other dining room, but this was quickly rectified and sorted by alice. absolutely brilliant service of alice and hannah, both of which are a credit to the cambe hotel team, we had an amazing Mother's Day celebration because of eating and service, highly recommended and we will be back safe.

I thought we could go for a weekday treat. We pushed the boat out and ordered fillet steak. Bad idea, we asked for medium-rare. After waiting an hour we were presented with two lumps or tough shrivelled up meat. I sent them back (I have...never sent steaks back before). Literally, minutes later we were given two squishy lumps of steak. Chard on the outside but mostly blue. Didn't bother sending them back again, what's the point. We ate our chips and took the raw steak home for the cat. (we cooked it first). Utterly disappointed at our first visit back. No sign of the quality food we’ve enjoyed on numerous occasions. The bread took ca. minutes to come out. The two medium rare fillet steaks were well done hockey pucks an hour after we were seated. The...fillet steaks were returned and the ones that came back were more rare than medium rare but my companions ate them rather than return them again. My rump steak was cooked medium as requested but was tougher than when previously eaten here. The truffle salted chips did not taste of truffle salt and we requested more on the side.
