I just got my books and I am so happy, can now rest and read forever, provided I buy more of this beautiful bookshop. are looking forward to buying more in the near future. ps as a dame of 74 it is the perfect way to relax.

I took my mum and sister for tea and cake. They loved it, superb decor from 1930s, you drink out of beautiful tea cups. The cakes are lovely and vegan (some of them). Jewellery is there too. Lovely place to network, meet up with friends, to look for old books and some gifts. Owner is a book dealer and can try and get you most books if not in stock. Free tea or coffee to all service people. Prices reasonable and all...cakes homemade. Assortment of teas. Afternoon tea menu. Well worth a visit. You can park across the road at the Anchor pub

so should a tea shop really be! a bookshop also...in the did the place is full of interesting articles, from old books, to China-teepots, all for sale. the tee is wonderful, served in real tassen, with all the accessories sugar rings included....The food is limited to cake, crumbs and sandwiches. we spent a nice hour here and will make it a regular visit.

This place is as wonderful as it is odd, a tiny little place filled to the brim with ild books and interesting things, the star of the show has to be the lady owner, she is incredibly kind and makes you feel as if you...were friends from old, couple this with gorgeous cakes, tea and sandwiches all served in China cups and plates...it's a wonderfully satisfying tea shop that leaves you with a smile Ver carta

this place is amazing. a stone and very old world. full surprises and many different unusual books. the refreshments were beautiful and all served by china tassen schnapps sauces, and beautiful 3 animals china pie stands. the service was great and nothing was too much. of the beautiful owner, who is so obviously passionate about what she does. many beautiful gift ideas also, so that we fully loaded with unique gifts and of course more cake and a book. worth visiting.

I finally made it to The Old Curiosity Bookshop in Hathern What a lovely place! I loved chatting to the owner, browsing the shelves of books and crafts, and enjoying the quaint and cosy tearoom I treated myself to a new candle (Broadwater Candles-wood sage...and sea salt), a blue silk scarf, an independently published book of poetry and an old book about The Archers from 1975! The minute I walked into The Old Curiosity Bookshop and Tearoom, I had a strong sense that I was walking into a place that is truly loved. I found it to be a veritable Aladdin's cave. Everywhere you look, on the walls, the multitude of...shelves selling local crafts, not to mention the bookshop, there was a treasure to be found. The cakes were hard to resist and I disgracefully indulged myself in a cream tea. The owner, Teena made everybody feel at home. I left with an armful at books, and the best part was everything was reasonably priced. I'm not from the Leicestershire area, but the Old Curiosity Bookshop and Tearoom is a good enough reason for me to return to the area again and again. Ver carta
