"So impressed with The Millstone tonight. The food was excellent as always, but what really made our evening was the fantastic staff. We were there with our children and our grandchildren, so from age 60 to 7 months! Staff couldn't do enough to help and make things perfect for us. They are so thoughtful and kind. All of them full of smiles, warm and friendly, as well as highly efficient. They really made our night and I can't thank them enough. Highly recommend a visit here."

"We have visited the cafe on a number of occasions when travelling in this part of Wales and it has always been a favourite of ours. We called in yesterday for lunch after booking the day before. I would think it is advisable to book at the moment as the covid19 regulations are making life more difficult for owners of all cafe's, restaurants etc. The food choice was excellent and everything we had was lovely and all served with a smile. Apart from the food the other thing that stood out was the attention being paid to keeping everyone safe in the light of the pandemic. There is hand sanitiser available at the entrance to the garden centre and several other places around the cafe. Between guests the tables and chairs were cleaned to what must be operating theatre standards! We are looking forward to our next trip out this way and will definitely be calling in again. A big thank you to all the staff."

"The food here was really good. Let down by the service. We had to ask for our drinks after the starter arrived, we had to ask for Toast with the pate the server didn't know if it came with it or not. Roast beef dinner was the best we have had for miles around though. We asked for dessert menus which we then had to ask for again after 15 minutes. We eventually ordered ten minutes or so later, and then decided to get the bill after 20 minutes when the desserts never arrived, we did get soup spoons though as apparently that's all they had. I imagine there were dessert spoons somewhere but it was probably easier to just give soup spoons as it saved them having to leave their chit chat to go and find them. There were a couple of efficient staff behind the bar but the floor staff, of which there were plenty just stood chatting and drinking by the coffee machine ignoring everything that was going on. Such a shame, especially as the food is really good. If you can't offer efficient table service then just adjust your offer so customers can order at the bar. Customers don't mind paying a fair price for good food if the service is good too. Its not hard. It seemed the place wasn't managed tonight maybe it was just a bad day but puts you off a revisit when this is already the second time we have had this experience."

"Everyone in our group was equally pleased with their food choices. The ambiance was lovely, with gentle 70s music playing as we enjoyed our time outside in the heated pod. The interior was also beautifully decorated, and the entire pub was spotless. The staff were incredibly friendly and polite, and there was ample parking available. I truly couldn't find anything wrong with this pub. Seriously, when you're in the area, you must stop in for a meal—you won't be disappointed!"

"Travelled an hour to visit broughton retail park for some xmas shopping and decided to stop off at nandos. Trainee (with dark hair and tattoos) at the front door advised us that we would be waiting minutes for a table as they were busy...and covid restrictions were making it difficult for them to accommodate everyone. We scanned the QR code outside the restaurant and got told we would receive a text when our table was ready. Popped into a few shops and hadn't received any text for mins, Trainee explained it would be another mins so we decided to wait outside until we had our text. The trainee was stood in the doorway the whole time looking over at us with a blonde female colleague. after mins we received a text telling us our table had been cancelled'. When we asked the trainee what was going on he said you should have had a text for your table' we explained we hadn't and he said well its another min wait'.. annoyed we explained we had been stood outside the whole time waiting to which he responded well there's nothing i can do sorry'. Surely seeing us standing DIRECTLY in front of him for mins he realised we were waiting to go inside? I appreciate the covid restrictions but he could have made some sort of effort to book us a table himself to ensure we would get a place? He came across incredibly rude and unhelpful and showed very little customer service skills. No apology was given and we went to the restaurant next door."
