"Tried pub out on recent weekend stay at nearby White Hart. Most expensive of the four pubs in the village for drinks £3 more for exactly the same two drinks as we had in the Greyhound. However food made up for it some of the best Thai I have had. Service was good in fact the only minor criticism is the fact that we felt we were being closely watched by staff to point where my dish was removed before my wife had finished hers. That said would certainly return and would certainly recommend."

Fantastic food. Great presentation. Friendly staff. We sat outside on deck in the evening sun. Brilliant little spot on.

I can't knock this pub about much at all. It's cozy, but friendly staff, a garden, pool table and excellent Thai food all make a visit worthwhile.

Really enjoy our visits to the OHAH. Good Thai food served in a traditional pub. Ian and Henry give a great welcome and the real ale is always perfect.

Typical English pub from the outside but it serves delicious Thai food inside.......three of us ate there and all ordered different dishes which were excellent. Ver carta

Wow, amazing food. The Thai calamari on the starter menu is simply mind blowing, but everything that arrived was to be fair. Land lord, bar staff, chef and waiters all clearly totally on it. Will definitely be returning.

We love Thai food and it’s the best at The Old House at Home in Overton. The service is efficient, staff pleasant, sitting outside lovely, and the food is so tasty and piping hot. We must return very soon we enjoyed our meal so much.

This was a very disappointing experience as the lamb shank they served up was still frozen. There was no apology just some mumbling about why this may have happened and an offer to bring out another portion that was fully cooked. No thank you! Ver carta

Appears to be a solid local favourite but also welcoming to those visiting for the first time. The Thai food is fantastic and has a great selection on the menu. Will definitely come back. If thinking of travelling to give it a try then I’d highly recommend also.

"Our first visit. We cannot praise thank The Wellie highly enough. What a find! Peacefully rural on a quiet road to the south of Baughurst. A classic, pretty country pub, now converted to an excellent restaurant, with three rooms. What strikes you first is how immaculate The Wellie is, inside and out. The large garden is a delight. Masses of dahlias and all manner of bushes and plants. Birds, birds and more birds. Do check out the vegetable garden beyond the rear car park. You then walk inside to the warmest of relaxed welcomes from the owners, Simon and Jason, and manager, Sheila, and their lovely young helpers. Nothing is too much trouble. The first thing you’ll spot is the array of fruit, veg salad for sale by the pub bar – the Wellie Deli. Along with home made jams, chutneys, quiches, etc. I then spotted the two hand pumps! Longdog Golden Poacher Basingstoke Pride. The seating inside is for diners every session is a sell out! But I was very happy to sup several excellent pints of well kept draught Basingstoke Pride in the garden – until I discovered their Negronis! Truly the best this side of Kwant (Piccadilly). We’d opted for the room in the pub: the Apartment. Two rooms on the first floor, knocked through. Enormous comfy bed, large rainfall shower, sofa, mini bar – two TVs! Free milk homemade shortbread. One of the discoveries we made here is the fabulous tea they serve from Prince Sons. As you can tell by now, we were very happy with our first stay at The Wellie… and then we went down for dinner! A truly exceptional menu from Jason’s kitchen, which changes each evening. Highlights were the scallops wrapped in pancetta, the pollack, the lamb pot pie, the twice baked cheese souffle, the NY cheesecake, the rhubarb ice cream, the treacle tart... All so fresh, tasty, and mainly from their garden. What we loved most was it was relaxed but fine dining without the tiny portions. The Full English breakfast the next morning was equally tasty. All in all, we did not want to go home! Thank you Simon, Jason Sheila. We will be back, soon."
