"We visited on Friday evening for a drink. The staff didn’t appear to know what they were doing. They were serving people at the bar that were coming after others and ignoring customers that had waited longer. After eventually being served and sitting down with our drinks we decided to have a meal. My wife wanted the chicken pie and I ordered the falafel burger in a bun with an egg and fries. When it came, my burger and fries were presented in a cardboard box like a takeaway, my wife’s did come on a plate. It was poorly presented not cheap and we were really disappointed. We were in Lantwit Major for 3 days, after Friday we didn’t go back to the old swan there were much better pubs across the road. Will not be going back to this pub."

All pubs do fish and chips and varies hugely. Really good at The Old Swan decent size fish, great chips, good value. Friendly service.

The meal was fantastic and the service was excellent. The restaurant highlights Welsh cuisine and beverages. It is definitely worth a visit in the center of Llantwit Major.

We were staying in the village and the taxi driver recommended this place for a bite to eat! Great recommendation as we both had superb meals (vegan curry aubergine tagliatelle) and such a welcoming staff team! Really enjoyed our visit and would very much recommend! Ver carta

Nine of us girls went out for lunch at the Old Swan today. The food was fantastic - the cod with baba ganoush and chicken specials were especially delicious. We enjoyed plenty of rose wine and received great service from the lovely staff, making it a wonderful day out.

Burger with 1 rasher of bacon and over cooked skinny fries that look like it was thrown on the plate. It was terribly presented, no salad in the bun or as garnish on the side at £18 it was extremely disappointing and would not go back and left feeling hungry and cheated. In contrast the fish and chips looked good with Proper chips etc.

Dropped in for lunch. I had chicken and mushroom pie with carrots, parsnips and chips while my wife had pea and fennel risotto. The risotto was good. The pie had loads of chicken with large sliced mushrooms but the gravy was quite thin but tasty. The veg was not that appealing as they were over cooked. Beer was good. There’s a beer festival on so loads to choose from. Ver carta

Being confronted and made to feel uncomfortable in my regular drinking hole by rob tonight was not my best experience. My only hope would have been to have been spoken to appropriately discreetly and not yelled at across the bar in front of customers. Very immature behavior unacceptable genuinely. Thanks to the rest of the staff that made it clear that it was not appropriate and was childish.

The dining area in this old Pub with a real fire is lovely. The staff is great. I have visited before and have noticed a difference each time. Unfortunately, I believe the quality of the Sunday dinners is declining, with less food and not arriving hot. This used to be a go-to venue for me and my friends, but please pay attention to the details that matter to your customers in this difficult economic climate.

"I raved about this place in my last review but since then it appears to have changed. Firstly, I cant remember the chairs being so uncomfortable that they had 'scatter ' cushions for you to use if you needed to. Having had back surgery, they made it even worse for me, so did without them in the most uncomfortable chair ever. Now, to the main part of the review. The lovely cakes that I had raved about had disappeared to be replaced by a sorry looking load of bog standard cake. The poor girl who served us was nervous as it was her first day, we ordered pecan pie which came with cream, we asked if its pouring or thick, she had to ask, it was pouring so we asked if we could have ice cream instead, she had to ask. Anyway, we finally ordered our cake and coffee. When she brought the coffee, she spilled half of mine in the saucer and then asked if I wanted a different saucer....duh! she took the offending saucer and the spoon brought a saucer back, no extra serviette to wipe the bottom of the cup and NO SPOON! We were then served the cake and ice cream, which to be fair, was nice, until, halfway through I saw a hair on my friends plate, (she was not wearing her glasses). We knew instantly that it was not either of ours, I have shoulder length hair and her hair was in a bun! We called the poor young lady over and pointed it out, she asked if my friend wanted to change it...duh! Of course she did, she brought another and thankfully my friend shared it with me! The coffee was (flat white) was nice but after that catalogue of events I wont be going back. They do offer a range of snacks/lunches and people did seem to be enjoying them."
