"For the price it wasn't good value for money. We went specifically for the tempura sole which we had enjoyed previously but this time the batter was heavy and greasy. Edible but not particularly enjoyable. My partner enjoyed an excellent cocktail although she said she was pleased that there wasn't much alcohol. Music was so loud we had to ask them to turn it down but staff were friendly and attentive."

It’s the second time we have visited the playwright on New Year’s Eve, and it was still amazing! Excellent food service and evening!

We had a wonderful Sunday lunch in the first weekend of new Sunday hours and menu. The food was top notch and despite an off wine, the other bottle we chose was good and the service and ambiance was also pleasant. Would definitely recommend!
