"we had our group christmas eating on the last Thursday evening and it was just perfect. of us had preordered from the Christmas menu and it was without doubt one of the best Christmas dinners I had ever had. I think we had everything covered on the menu in our group and everything was beautifully presented and really delicious. the pub has beautiful Christmas decoration and creates a beautiful atmosphere. all employees are attentive and welcoming and the service was correct, enough attention, but not too much. it is local for us and we are going quite often as a group and separated, it has everything we need. well made for the whole team and especially michalae, great atmosphere, service and eating. big it up especially for the chefs, they really pulled the hat out of the bag last week."

Was recommended this lovely pub and it certainly didn't disappoint! We went to celebrate our wedding anniversary and we couldn't have chosen a better venue. The pub is cozy, the staff are, attentive and helpful and food was incredible. All home made, plenty of it, fantastic quality and flavors, so much choice as well. Will definitely go back If you've not tried it yet book yourself a table.!

last week, I sunk for a drink for the first time before eating was terrible. the new owner michaela, partner and her team in the last two years seem to have cleaned the place high. good one- and weingut with friendly staff is cozy welcome. I had a pint exmoor gold and a glass nz white wine. I thought I ordered fish and chips after a conversation about hitting home, but only chips came out. it doesn't matter if it's an engagement. later afternoon in the week, but I can't remember better chips, next time I'll make sure I fish too.

but we did not really good option for a vegan roast (with gravy the meal came and saw delicious BUT.. with flower cheese? we were suspicious and checked and it wasn't vegan so scratched it from the plate. if we had only flowers, it would have been staring as the meal was good, apart from that, with much heavy. we were not asked to vegan or vege, but I said vegan roast at order. Vegan cheese could be used for both or not at all, it would be easier for the kitchen, just the same meal for both. the drinks did not arrive before eating and it was unclear when a waitress was ordered and asked if we would like to order drinks while waiting for our drinks. she was very polite and immediately came wi...

The George Inn

The George Inn

Brompton Regis, TA22 9NL, West Somerset, United Kingdom

"Yet again we needed to celebrate having resolved a long standing technical problem. The pub in Brompton Regis came up in discussion the evening before when our neighbour was around for a glass of wine. He said that before coming to our village he’d looked at houses in Brompton Regis. He left and we booked a table. Friday was a damp day but we were not deterred as we drove up into the Brendon Hills, usually distant views greet one but this day the clouds were dominant. However as we descended from Roborough Gate towards Wimbleball Lake we could turn off the wipers. By the time we crossed the bridge at the top of the lake a shaft of sun broke through and sparkled across the surface of the water whilst light wisps of mist kissed the shore line. Rounding the churchyard wall always raises our expectations for there is the George Inn. The bar door was hardly open before Tash, a beaming smile, greeted us with a price board for ‘COFFEE’. I said in my previous review that I wouldn’t mention coffee at the George again, sorry, but I must. The coffee machine had arrived the day before. Well done Tripadvisor the George! We had a wonderful starter of Baba Ganoush, new to the menu that day. It was exceptionally good with delicate flavour. Following on was chicken breast and pasta with tomato sauce, again great flavour though my wife found it a little too greasy. My Bengal curry was fantastic and a most generous serving. Our ‘Desert,’sic, was Chocolate Ganache with pistachio ice cream under crunched nuts. I had the steamed maple syrup pudding set in a delicious whisky sauce, a very delicate and light texture, just right to finish on after the curry! Of course we had our long awaited espressos from the new device, a delicious finale to our meal. Earlier in walkers had dropped in wanting a coffee. Now all on Exmoor should be heading to the George for their ‘hit’."
