I called in for dinner on Sunday, and it truly exceeded my expectations. All the food was delicious, and the portion sizes were generous. They were also very accommodating to my two-year-old son, which was a nice touch. I definitely recommend this place!

great pub, the well kept robinsons ales served. dizzy blonde is my favorite tip and his first class. great friendly renter, malcolm and staff. directly next to the canal with a beer garden over lock 43. eating is good price and good quality. let them go when they pass!

love goes here, either with our dog or without. eating is always great, daughter loves the mac n cheese bite, hubby loves the rump steak and my choice is always the gammon. really friendly staff, large parking space and beautiful canal walk. always busy when the weather is nice, especially with dog owners. Just returned from enjoying a 2 course Sunday lunch and can't fault it. Excellent home cooking with plenty of Vegetables cooked to perfection followed by melt in the mouth apple pie. Lovely relaxed atmosphere traditional pub with friendly efficient staff with quick service at a very reasonable price. Very highly recommended

This is a very friendly pub that has undergone a fantastic renovation in the last 18 months. It features a great seating area by the canal, perfect for warm days, and serves as an ideal stop for a break during a canal walk. The dining options are good, with a couple of vegan choices available, and the portion sizes are always generous.

I was really pleased to find a pub that caters for special dietary requests. I went with a large group of friends for Sunday lunch. I had spoken to the chef a few days earlier and he cooked me a huge piece of salmon as I do not eat meat and made me a diary free pudding at no extra cost. He couldn't be more helpful and understanding. The meal and service were great. Will definitely return. Ver carta

Charming little pub with easy parking and a pleasant outdoor seating area by the canal. It brought back many emotions and memories for my mum, as her father was stationed nearby during the war as part of the ambulance crew. We tried to visit the hall where he was stationed, but it seems to have been converted into luxury accommodations, so we were unable to get in. However, she fondly remembered sitting outside on the wall.

Being busy we were sat up stairs where you are clearly forgot about, after having to go and find a waitress to take our order a young lady came to take it. Out with my starter of piping hot chicken wing that were totally FROZEN in the middle, after taking them back down stairs as nobody came up to check . Round 2 of the chicken wing's turned up on the same plate with the same salard and sauce, no apology. The chef sorry cook then sent up the frozen packet and told the waitress it's already cooked ? What! It's frozen ! I just wanted a sorry and a fresh starter nothing more. Shocking customer service, I did ask the waitress for him to attend the table , but he was busy making our mains which w...

Lovely meal, good portion and quality food with lovely homemade chips, beautiful area to sit outside with canal next to it.... HOWEVER... the menu prices online on the website are NOT the actual price... The menu states alot of the meals are £5, i.e gammon and chips, burger, cod and chips etc but this is not the case. When the bar lady told us the price after ordering I was abit shocked, thinking it would have cost £10 before ordering but when asking for the money she actually asked for just over £25. This is a BIG difference. We mentioned that the menu on their website does not state this, and she said she would get it sorted as they're no longer doing them meals at that price, the other ba...
