"I absolutely loved this restaurant. Everything from the owner to the smallest details like the paint on the gate was delightful. The atmosphere was smart, clean, comfortable, warm, welcoming, and relaxing. Despite a sudden influx of over 40 people, the staff handled the situation with grace and managed to fulfill all previously placed orders. Even the person washing dishes checked in to see if my meal was satisfactory! The food was delicious, and the hand-pulled ales were a hit. The service was top-notch from the moment we walked in. I ended up staying overnight in my motor home while supporting my son at the local Churchill Hospital. The staff only asked for us to relax with a beer and a meal. I am so glad I stumbled upon this place, staffed by reliable, helpful individuals. Truly a fantastic experience. I will definitely be returning. 5 Stars PLUS!"

There is a spacious area behind the pub that can accommodate a few motorhomes. We were able to park for free and easily access the town by walking or taking the nearby bus stop.

Such a lovely place. Made very welcome in our motorhome and a green area to exercise our dog. All is required is to eat there. That wasn't a problem. The food was well priced and delicious. We would go back.

Family-friendly, pet-friendly. Lovely staff. Solid pub fare, good range of drinks. Great ambiance no matter the weather and time of year. Huge yard for sunny days, and cozy old building with charcoal/wood fires in Winter. Easily my favourite local watering-hole .

Called in on a Sunday and had the fish and chips and it was excellent, highly recommended. Large car park at rear but decided not to stay over in motorhome and continue home but I would definitely stay over here in our van in the future. Bus stop directly opposite the pub. Ver carta

We stayed here in our motorhome for three nights. What a great little find. This is a great pub, the food is excellent, very reasonably priced and the portion sizes are very generous. The staff are lovely. Real ales and home cooked food in a great pub , what more can I say. Very very happy customer xxx

Great pub. Cosy interior, friendly staff and delicious food for reasonable prices. We stayed at their car park with our camper for one night. Plenty of space and nice level grounds. It's free to stay if you drink or eat something in the pub. To visit Oxford, it's only a half an hour walk and it's a beautiful walk too, mostly going through parks. Absolutely recommended!!

"I've been going to Oxford for 3 years now and in that time to be frank struggled to find a decent go to restaurant. I can now say with delight i've found my destination. I present SPICED ROOTS a little caribbean culinary gem. The fresh perfectly cooked food is absolutely delicious and gives off that home cooked by mummy vibe and is beautifully presented. The chilli and garlic prawns had my eyes closed Mark Weins style (if you know you know) so juicy with an incredible depth of flavour, the Trini doubles not only were seasoned to perfection they left you wanting more and the Jerk chicken spring rolls were an absolute triumph. For mains we had the ackee and callaloo Jerk Tempah (vegetarian) and the Jerk chicken. Both came with rice peas, plaintain and salad. Not only were the portions huge the flavours of both dishes were just mind blowingly delicious. Then we embarked on dessert and had the beautiful spiced rum cake and a selection of 3 home made ice creams namely Coconut, Guinness and the old Caribbean favourite Rum and Raisin, all recommended by the owner. It's at this point I feel compelled to speak about the rum raisin ice cream. I've eaten this ice cream on numerous occasions at numerous locations in Jamaica over my many years and I tell you no word of a lie this was hands down the best rum and raisin ice cream I've ever tasted, it literally left us speechless. So to summarise, this place has great food, great music, great service and a wonderfully charming owner who's totally invested in serving great, incredibly tasty, authentic Caribbean food clearly prepared with love. What more could you ask for. Fair to say it was meant to be. Uncle Jay."
