"Myself and my partner visit the Rose and Crown quite often, and every time we are greeted with a warm welcome by all the attentive staff. The bar team know our usual round of drinks and will always have a quick friendly chat with us when we order. We have never had a poor experience with the food, it is usually always delivered in good time, served piping hot, and well presented. An added bonus is that the pub is now dog-friendly and we can take our pooch with us, who also gets a lovely greeting from the staff! The team are all great, but praise has to go in particular to Rob, Alex and Adele. Keep up the good work guys!"

Ordered food weeks in advance but were told half of it wasn't available when we got there. No turkey on the Christmas menu!! Slow service. Disgruntled staff. Never again. I wonder why the Jug and Bottle get so much trade!

Delicious, wholesome burger with chips and salad garnish. Enjoyed a lovely salted caramel crumble with custard. Food was delicious and atmosphere was great. Very happy with the customer service. Went with my club for 1st year anniversary.

Monday evening was consistently busy, but there was no long wait to be served or receive our meals. The service was excellent, as always, with Cheryl and Jordan taking care of us tonight, although all staff are always great. The real ale and Peroni pints were good.

Went for a girly catch up. Food was really bad. The fishcake was really hard and not nice at all. I had crispy prawn ciabatta. It was very poor value for money. 3 prawns and a liitle salad on the side . I paid extra for the chips so it was £7.99. Although the 3 prawns were tasty not value for money at all. I went home hungry . We were all very disappointed and will not be going again.

Today, six of us enjoyed a wonderful meal at this restaurant. We all opted for the set menu, which had a great selection. The service from Jordan and Sheryl (I hope I spelled that right) was fantastic - very friendly and welcoming. The portions were generous and after three courses, we were all very full. The restaurant was busy but not too loud. I would definitely recommend this place for a relaxing and affordable lunch.

I ordered haddock with chips and mushy peas at this restaurant. The fish was decent considering it was frozen, but the chips were clearly cheap frozen products. Many in our group didn't finish their meals. However, the atmosphere at the pub was enjoyable and the staff were very friendly. In terms of value, you can find better options nearby. It was disappointing to be served frozen fish in Grimsby, a town known for its fresh seafood.

We would have to travel a long way to find meals as bad as the ones we had ! My spinach and lentil pie had a bit of flavour but the pastry was soggy, my husband ordered a medium rare steak but he only got the rare part of it ! Other members of the family had a mixture of meals between them and none of them were good. Was really looking forward to a small family gathering but it was a big rip off. Called at the shop on the way home to buy us all a lovely cake and cream for pudding to finish the meal off at mine along with our own wine served with a smile

"Attended a family wedding here recently. The restaurant, the location and the facilities were top notch, I think you would have to work hard to improve on what they have achieved here. However, the bar staff in the first floor function suite leave much to be desired ! Their attitude and reaction to the wedding guests during the wedding reception and evening event should definatly be improved ! It began with the sullen faces of the waiting staff during the reception , most should learn how to smile only one lady waitress blonde hair new starter was polite and smiled give her a job in staff training We asked for a bread roll during lunch, to be told, only for guests who have ordered soup ! Eventually after asking again they brought two over for the brides father... The evening event was a challenge when we struggled to understand why the part bottles of wine had disappeared from the table, when most of the guests were drinking spirits and beer etc. The penny , or should I say the C £17,000 dropped when the waitresses were removing full glasses of drinks from the table without checking! When challenged , the nonchalant response was to place the drinks back on the table and march off like petulant teenager! Our dismay was amplified the following day during a conversation with the restaurant manager told us , that 's what we do, If you need to keep your opened bottles of wine on the table you need to let us know , otherwise they will be removed! oh, so the wine is cleared along with the newly poured drinks too then? I don 't think we, or anyone else we know have ever been to a restaurant and even thought to tell the waiting staff not to take the half bottles of wine away before they have been emptied ? This usual practice was not discussed when we booked ! A cynic could suspect they re sell the newly recovered wine by the glass. This said, the manager did compensate with two bottles of the brides choice , so thanks for recognising the issue. But please consider NOT removing part bottles etc without checking in the first place."
