"the ambiente is great. beautiful room, but the service took forever. the personal looked lost and overwhelmed, with the place half full. the table behind us waited so long until they left before they received a large part of their food. it also had to pack it in, no help from the personal. good does not come all at once, as on the typical afternoon tee. it took us an hour to get our first food item and over 1.5 hours to get all our food; and that was only after we had to complain. After we asked how long the rest of the food would last, the waitress told us that it was a 2 hours experience and told us again and again that it is what it is. That's okay, but they need to keep food during this 2 hours. that's not the case. great room, will not return."

Had a fabulous time! The food, service and location were all perfect. Loved the selection of savoury and sweet courses, and the attentive waiter and chef could not have been more helpful and informative. They made a special effort for my birthday as well , bringing a special plate with extra goodies! Tea and champagne were great as well. Overall, loved the whole experience!

The finger sandwiches... weren't finger sandwiches. I booked the afternoon tea on the strength of the french onion soup' finger sandwiches. Sounded very interesting and delicious, but what we got was a tepid bowl of onion soup. There was a crab pastry (not a sandwich) and a tart (not a sandwich). Mini scones were ok, but jan was really runny and just ended up all over the place. The pattisseries were ok. One was a tahini thing. then a pumpkin thing. The tarragon and blackcurrant macaron was weird tasting. Given the french twist' to afternoon tea, I was expecting choux pastry, like a mini eclair. Dishes looked super-pretty, but overal underwhelming.
