The Rupert Brooke - Carta

The first course was excellent, but the Sunday roast was disappointing as it wasn't warm.

Decor and ambience good. Main course much enjoyed (fish and chips); dessert of treacle tart very overcooked, make better myself. Value for money, not sure. Ver carta

Have eaten there twice before, food was tasty and of a high standard, service was friendly and helpful but not intrusive. Will definitely be returning in the future.

Disappointed that fish and chips were not available The 1 and a half nicoise salad potatoes were very cold , straight out of the fridge. The portion sizes are small. My wine glass stem was not clean.

We dine out for Sunday dinner nearly every week and decided to give the Rupert Brook another chance, despite our disappointing experience there a few years back. Unfortunately, we won't be returning. We had to wait 20 minutes for our reserved table, and the meal was quite unsatisfactory. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience. Ver carta

the food was good and so was the service. the cost for the foods were high and I can't only see that it's scaring off the visitors with the trips so high. I know the costs have risen, but that's the same for their customers. good kitchen is to do with the skill of the cook and so I would challenge them to reduce their cost and get the quality of eating. they benefit from increased visitor numbers and not from higher travel.

A couple of years ago, I really enjoyed my visit to this restaurant, but this time it was quite disappointing. It was understandably busy on a Saturday night, but having only three staff members was unacceptable. The wait time was excessive, and the service felt overwhelmed. I remember the food being high quality during my last visit, but this time it was merely average. I felt sorry for the employees who were clearly working hard, but it seemed too much for just three people to handle on a busy night. Our food was practically thrown onto the table, and no one checked on us during the meal. Overall, I cannot say I was impressed, and I won’t be rushing back anytime soon.

A nice place with very good food. On this occasion the service was extraordinary and not in a good way so I couldn't recommend it. Our food was plonked on the table each time and interactions were limited to the barest minimum and bordered on sheer rudeness. We were made to feel like an imposition. They were very busy and therefore presumably under pressure so for example we had to wait a long time for our main course. This in itself would not be a problem if it had been communicated with an apology in a normal, friendly way. The service was delivered in a really unpleasant manner and spoilt the high quality of the food. I think and hope this must be an exception, otherwise they would not be... Ver carta
