"From my first contact with Paul to just snacking on a tasty left over I brought home, the service and attention to detail has been second to none. I met Paul and we discussed a tailor made finger buffet which was competitively priced. On the day the pub was closed for our private use for two hours, we overran but felt under no pressure to leave quickly. The buffet was superb, all made on site and totally delicious. The ladies serving the hot food were very friendly without being intrusive. The set out of the pub works really well as 2,3 or 4 people occupy small tables in the bar area, with larger tables in the restaurant, this meant we could walk the length of the pub and talk to everyone who attended without the problems associated with long table dining. The staff were happy to accommodate the use of a screen and projector. Lovely atmosphere, very clean and having been very careful in the last 2 years to avoid C-19 I felt very relaxed at being in a pub again. I would definitely recommend this venue to anyone wishing to have a similar family gathering. Thanks all who made a difficult day less stressful."

I had a delightful Sunday roast at this restaurant. The staff was very friendly and the two men in charge were excellent. We live nearby but had never been here before. We will definitely return.

Situated about 250m from Broughton Castle, v welcoming looking pub, bright interior, friendly staff, extensive menu, we enjoyed our Sunday lunch (pork loin), but disappointing bread and butter pud (little taste), excellent beer. Would revisit.

Went for a walk with our dog in Broughton Castle popped into the Saye Sele Arms for a quick light snack. Couldn’t have met nicer people behind the bar. Warm, welcoming, home atmosphere. Food was fantastic, as was the beautiful Malbec. Terrific value for moneyWill definitely be going back Thanks Ver carta

Stopped here for lunch after visiting Upton House, and a lovely welcome from the two ladies running the pub, could not be more helpful and fantastic service. My husband and friend had the pie which they said is one of the best they have ever eaten .Would highly recommend a visit and stop for a meal as well.

We were recommended the pea, ham, and potato pie, so we chose to have one with mash and the other with chips. The first thing we noticed was that it was a proper pie with pastry on the top and bottom. It was delicious and we would like to thank the chefs for making such a tasty pie. The dessert we had afterwards was a Cherry Slice and it was heavenly. Well done.

My third time at Say and Sele was a fantastic experience. The service was exceptional and we all enjoyed the Christmas menu with plenty of options to choose from. The turkey had a delicious and authentic flavor, the beef was also very tasty, and the roast potatoes were wonderfully crispy. My husband even said the Christmas pudding was as good as the one I make at home! I double-checked and he was right. We will definitely be returning to Say and Sele. Ver carta

Went for a birthday lunch. Staff were fantastic and very attentive. Even added a birthday candle to the sweet! One customer was even escorted to his car under and umbrella! Steak and Kidney pie was the best pie I have ever had. Great size portion and a large serving of veg. Other dishes we had were Sausage, mash and onion gravy again excellent and a small scampi warm, good quality and not that small. A fantastic place, made the visit special. Thank you

My parents (and the whole family for special occasions) have visited a number of times. My elderly father unfortunately tested positive for covid and living nearly 60 miles away we felt helpless. We thought about ordering a roast dinner for delivery and called. They explained they don't usually do delivery, collection only but when Mark discovered our situation he re-arranged and as a special they delivered 2 roast dinners which absolutely thrilled my parents and definitely lifted their spirits. What a great team they are there. Can't thank you enough, it's these small gestures that take this restaurant from Good to something special.

"I don't know what on earth happened last night when we had dinner here, the reviews looked good, and we're struggling to understand how. We're very easily pleased and takes a lot to prompt a complaint, but we had an absolutely awful experience. My partner ordered the belly pork off the specials board, and it turned up on a side plate, a very few overcooked bits of diced pork thrown in with a few veg. I had the cauliflower with braised lentils, this turned out to be a few mainly burnt cauliflower florets thrown into a plate of sludgy lentils. The chunky chips we ordered came out as skinny fries, not a big deal but just added to the general lack of care. We were both mortified, to the point of embarrassment. We ate it as we were hungry and there was nowhere else to go as we were staying at a local campsite. One of the team took the plates away, and another brought the bill. Neither of them asked us how the meal was, else we'd have said how disappointed we were. So we just left, just as the table next to ours was commenting on the small portion sizes of their food. We should have complained but we were hungry, disappointed, tired and just wanted to leave and simply couldn't face the confrontation in the busy setting. No excuses but that's how it was. We are very relaxed easy going people but this was a truly disappointing meal and experience and we felt robbed of £45 instead of enjoying what we'd hoped would be a lovely Saturday night out and special occasion."
