"I unfortunately ordered the fish and chips at this restaurant. When it arrived, it had a very strong ammonia taste and unpleasant smell. It was inedible. I even had my family smell it to confirm that I wasn't imagining it. My husband quietly mentioned the issue to the staff, and the dish was taken away without any apology or offer for a replacement. After waiting in line to pay, I requested for the fish to be removed from the bill, which was done, but I was told that the fish had been freshly brought that morning. I felt mistreated and disbelieved. It's disappointing because the pub is located in a beautiful spot, but I doubt we will return, especially not for a meal."

Wonderful views of Corfe Castle and Dorset as far a Poole harbour, good pub food and options for vegetarians and with cheerful staff

Delicious Sunday lunch. We’d booked in advance and were delighted with a warm welcome and top quality roast beef dinner with all the trimmings.

The service at this restaurant is terrible. I waited an hour for a coffee. When I asked the bartender after 45 minutes if it had been forgotten, he responded very apathetically, saying "we're busy". The view is nice, but that's the only positive thing about this place.

Amazing views over the Purbeck Hills and Corfe Castle. Good selection of ciders and very dog friendly. Food wise, very basic pub menu. Staff very friendly especially Emma who resolved an issue we had very quickly. Come and see the views, enjoy a lovely drink and appreciate the hard working team.

We had a comfortable stay in the largest room at this pub. The pub itself is very old, with a charming garden and our suite had plenty of character with beautiful views of Corfe Castle. However, the windows in the room were very old and didn't close properly, which could be an issue in the winter. The evening meal we had was typical pub food, but our breakfasts were excellent. The staff were accommodating and efficient.

Their website it turns out is well out of date referring to events in 2023 and certainly does not reflect the restaurant menu offered to us on Wed 17th April 2024… Basically there was very little choice and virtually everything was chips orientated… Unless you want a choice of fish chips or burger chips avoid at all costs… We walked out without ordering as standards had clearly dropped considerably since our visits in previous years… What a shame!

We stopped at The Scott Arms for a spot of lunch as it fell in the middle of our Corfe Castle loop walk which took in the amazing coast path. We enjoyed a jerk chicken and a curried mutton both of which were very tasty and filling. Really quick to order, even on a busy Saturday and food arrived in a timely fashion. Although the prices have increased since we were last here the food was tasty particularly the curried mutton. However, it wouldn't need to increase much more before it would be too costly.

The menu was very limited (not like the one I checked online before) and the food wasn't great. My husband had ham, egg and chips and the ham was really fatty, my chips were a mix of under and over cooked and my son's burger bun was stale. The worst bit was paying the automatic service charge when you order at the bar, get your own drinks and we even had to get our own cutlery as the member of staff laying tables missed those where people were already sitting. Very disappointed! I wished I'd paid attention to other recent reviews that weren't good.

We had been to the Scott Arms a long time ago and loved it. So we took our visiting relatives there yesterday for what we hoped would be a special lunch. Big mistake! The usual beer selection was unavailable, my wife's ham and eggs was barely edible, tough and dried-out looking, and the table outside was very uncomforable and we had to change the first table as it was dangerous. It was clear to us that the pub is going through hard times and looked quite fly-blown, but this minimum effort approach is no way to improve footfall. We shall not return. Shame.

"We had the best time here on Saturday lunch. We arrived early to a quiet restaurant and were greeted by super friendly and well informed staff, who made us feel at ease and explained their new ‘small plates’ menu. Our kids were given a nice menu with colouring in and nothing seemed too much to ask for. We decided to let our 4 and 6 year old order from their kids menu and hoped they would try some of our dishes too. The menu really is very appealing, so much so that the 3 adults ended up ordering EVERY dish they had on the menu in the end! I think it was 16 various dishes of meats, fish, veggies and pasta’s. All homemade and with a really modern vibe. Our waitress was soo good at making us feel at ease we had the best time. A few dishes were ordered and came out really fast we were overjoyed at how beautiful they looked, and the flavours we so well balanced and punchy we got really giddy and decided to order all of the other dishes and just share them all out. Have to say each dish was a triumph, my favourite was the pork ‘burnt ends’ with sweet and sour carrots and a mustard sauce, my partners was the pointed cabbage dish with sesame, my mothers the beetroot and goats cheese crispy ball. They all were delicious, and our kids tried loads of new things like a crab pasta and a cheesey focaccia. It seems like they really thought these little dishes out soo well, temperatures, textures, colours, flavours, elegance we’ve not had anything like this outside of London. So, 16 plates in, plus the kids had their main course… we were all full up, felt like we’d been on a culinary adventure. And then we were offered something sweet okay maybe we were just being greedy, maybe we just couldn’t resist not trying more?! The kids had a ‘build your own dessert’ of ice cream and sauces and sprinkles and cake bits looked great but sadly only for kids! We had their ‘sweet things’, kind of like large petit fours. Chocolatey cake balls, salted caramel truffles and tart passion fruit jellies all were amazing! By the time we left, the restaurant was really busy and I can see why we will most certainly be coming again! Thank you!"
