"We have frequented this lovely pub for drinks and meals in the past and have always enjoyed it, but tonight we were truly impressed by the exceptional service. A kind gentleman working at the front of the house quickly found us a table (as we had a young child in a stroller and there were few tables available). He then provided us with menus and asked if we needed a high chair, going out of his way to ensure our comfort. Initially, we had only planned to have a drink and look at the menu, but with such excellent service, we couldn't resist ordering a meal as well. The gentleman even brought us coloring pencils, a coloring book, and plastic pads for our little girl, and made sure to ask if we needed anything else. The bar staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. Our daughter enjoyed the Pitta pizza from the children's menu, which was served promptly upon arrival (unlike at other places where it often arrives piping hot, leading to tantrums as it cools). Our linguini and nachos were also delicious. We never felt rushed to finish our meal, which was especially refreshing with a young child who eats at a leisurely pace. The entire experience was delightful, and we would highly recommend this pub to other families. It is so heartwarming when establishments make an effort to accommodate families with children. We truly appreciate the attention to detail that was put into ensuring we had a pleasant dining experience."

We booked a two-night bed and breakfast deal at this hotel because we love North Devon and it seemed like a good deal. Check-in was easy, and we were given a double room in the main building where they were happy for our dog to stay with us. The room was clean and tidy, with a lovely view over the estuary. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of options, including a piping hot cooked breakfast that fueled us for our long beach walks with our dog. We dined at the pub both nights and enjoyed a menu that offered a good mix of standard dishes and specials, along with great beer, cider, and wine. However, tonight we were truly impressed with the exceptional service we received. A friendly staff member quickly found us a table, despite the limited availability due to having a toddler in a stroller. He promptly provided us with menus and offered a high chair for our little one, going out of his way to ensure our comfort.
