We visited the Ship for the first time tonight and we will definitely be going again. The service was way up and beyond any service I've received in years, Liv was totally brilliant and made such a great fuss over our dog us, that we felt moved. Been here a number of times for the Sunday social roast dinner! Every time we have been the service has been fantastic. We get the roast dinner platter so we have a choice of meat all really tasty the roast potatoes are the best ever an the Yorkshire puds gravy are both homemade! Always have leftovers which the staff are happy to box up to take home! Not had a bad experience yet an will continue to support this fantastic local!! Food: 5

I had a fabulous birthday Sunday dinner at The Ship last Sunday and was so delighted that I had chosen to celebrate it here. There were fourteen of us and so this could have created quite a challenge to the staff but they were marvelous, attentive to everyone's needs the whole time. The food was sensational everyone had the Sunday Roast. I had the beef again, my favouite, and gravy to die for! Thanks to all involved, I had a lovely, memorable birthday, such a happy time.

I ordered the veggie roast dinner. The potatoes and carrots were delicious, but I found the nut roast to be quite disappointing as it was very dense, and the broccoli was undercooked and too hard. The others in my group who had different roast dishes said their meals were okay but not impressive. For dessert, we had the same fruit crumble, which had a lovely crisp topping, but the fruit tasted more like jam and was excessively sweet. My dad requested warm custard with his crumble, while I wanted it cold. Unfortunately, both were served lukewarm. Given the prices, I expected a better overall experience.
