Fantastic night in the private dining room , superb food ,excellent friendly helpful staff . Can't find one thing to complain about , I would highly recommend the Ship Inn .

Disappointed . Visited this evening for husbands birthday and it was awful . Have visited the restaurant on several occasions previously, unfortunately the food was pub grub , poorly presented and not very appetising and very overpriced for what it was. We won’t be back and not value for money .

My husband and I were lucky enough to win the Valentines competition for a 3 course meal and bottle of fizz. It was a great way to spend our first valentines as a married couple. The food and service were both absolutely excellent and we can’t wait for our next visit. I would definitely recommend so please do not hesitate to try!!!

I would recommend the ship as a high-time location. steve and I had our high-time reception on the ship, it was amazing. we thank karen, Adam and all the staff for their wonderful care and attention, the steve and I and all the guests given. the art as the room saw was stunning karen her love to detail was amazing. the staff constantly ensured that all jars were never empty many thanks also to their cooking that was excellent. many thanks once again that they have made our very special day. brenda and steve stuart

every restaurant that does not have a children's menu gets a big thumb of me. here you can have half the adult main course menu. my 2 shared a godfather and then enjoyed hugging, tiger garnelen, chorizo and paprika with sweet chili glaze and lasagne with garlic bread and chips instead of the usual nuggets, pizza or sausage. both gave a big thumb. my smoked salmon and avocado beginner, followed by seabass, was beautiful. the adult were full, but the children explained the pavlowa and salted caramel chocolate pot to be delicious! beautiful evening and the service was friendly and attentive

We have been regulars at The Ship since it was a pub many years ago and when it transitioned to a restaurant it became one of our family favourites with many birthdays, anniversaries and other celebrations being held in the function room. Unfortunately, our most recent visit will be our last. We are aware that things don’t remain the same when new proprietors take over but you at least expect the same standards and value as before. Sadly the restaurant was lacking in atmosphere and wasn’t busy at all, it was also really cold inside and heard others mentioning this as well.
