Haven't been for years but the ale was good and the food was excellent, probably the best pub style Chinese and Indian food I've had. Good set up there.

I visit the pub regularly for the quiz and since the new refurbishment we have been arriving early for dinner the food is delicious and staff are great also get 15% off if you book a table which is an added bonus highly recommend

This is the kind of food I would expect from a high end restaurant in Mayfair. Its literally the best food I have had this year. The flavours a strong and multilayered, the mouth feel spot on. I would recommend this place to anyone, and will be returning asap

Food was excellent at Banarasi Kitchen. We have tried quite a few Indian restaurants in Reading so far we found Banarasi the best .food tasted very authentic and yummy. Ambience was excellent welcoming. All staff were excellent thank you for great service good luck Ver carta

Took a customer to Banarasi 's Kitchen at the Spread Eagle and I 'm going to actually say it... Best Indian food I have ever had. Three of us had starters and mains and not a single dish was part of the usual British Indian menu, although all the usuals are available. My Aloo Chaat and 'Railway Lamb ' was brilliant... completely surprising smells and flavours. I 'm not a local bit next time I 'm in Reading I 'll be going here for dinner. Superb.

great Indian food and excellent value. the first tip of ale was a bit old and flat. When I questioned it, I was told that it was supposed to be like that, obviously by a barman who does not drink himself. the second (different) pint was fresh and tasty as it should be. I've been drinking for decades and don't like saying something that's clearly wrong with someone who doesn't know her or understands that it's getting old. the first pint, although paid, was left undisturbed on the bar. I guess the customer isn't always right here.

We visited the Spread Eagle on the back of a friend recommendation. Really didn’t know what to expect, as we walked in it had the feel of a local community boozer, staff were friendly and efficient behind the bar. Had an issue with our wine, and the manager was brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble! Cannot fault the attentiveness and friendliness of the staff. The food was absolutely amazing! Authentic, full of flavour, with just enough to leave you feeling satisfied. I honestly cannot remember ever eating a better curry phenomenal. We loved it and will definitely be back. Ver carta
