The Staincliffe Restaurants

Fabulous looking hotel from the outside with an amazing view over the sea to Old Hartlepool. Sadly it's very tired on the inside, and needs money spent on it to bring it up to standard; especially the bedrooms and bathrooms.

Visited as there was on offer on sunday lunches, buy one get one free, £8.95. Son had fish fingers, chips and peas with free icecream. Sunday lunch was nice and tasty and plentiful. Meat, potatoes and yorkshire came on a plate with a separate dish...for peas, carrots and cabbage. The building is beautiful but very tired and in need of repair. The day we visited it was raining heavily and the ceiling was leaking in the restaurant. Staff are great and are really trying to get this gorgeous building back to a thriving business. Give it a try, support a local business!

I had a wonderful lunch and was pleasantly surprised after reading some previous negative reviews. I spent my childhood in Hartlepool around 50 years ago when Staincliffe was a truly grand place. Over the years, my visits have been a bit disappointing. However, my return visit today, after 2 years, was a pleasant surprise. The restaurant has two excellent bar/dining rooms at the front with great views. The menu offers quality food at a fair price. I heard that new owners took over about a year ago and they have done a great job. I would definitely recommend visiting this restaurant. I had an amazing evening at this restaurant. The management and staff went all out by dressing up in fancy costumes. The venue was decorated beautifully, and the singer who performed a Lady GaGa and Amy Winehouse tribute was absolutely fantastic. It was truly outstanding and the best tribute act I have ever seen. The atmosphere was wonderful, the food was good, and the DJ was very entertaining. I will definitely be returning for the next event. It's great to see life being brought back into Seaton Carew. Congratulations to Amanda and the rest of the Staincliffe team for a job well done. The staff were extremely attentive and couldn't do enough for us.

We booked a table for 5 for Sunday lunch with a lovely sea view in the nicely decorated restaurant. we were shown to our table that had our name on it. The choices were chicken, beef or pork or a bit of each, the dinners...turned up at the same time with mash, roasties and Yorkshire pudding and separate dishes of cabbage, carrots and french beans served nice and hot as I like it. Extra gravy boats and mint sauce added the finishing touch. The very reasonably priced deserts we had were sticky toffee pudding, strawberry cheesecake and apple pie all served with choice of custard, ice cream or cream. The service was fast and friendly and looking forward to next visit.

every thing in the ground floor seemed nice, but the hotel room was an nightmare. they had to be physically strong to open the hotel room door because of the new carpet, there were holes in the wall behind the door where the door button had passed and bar. the electrons went out and the solution was from the personal to show me how to take them back. the room was only waited once for a 3 night stay and I have repeatedly followed the simple things like clean hand towels, tee bags, milk etc. the request for room change was rejected because the hotel was full? the employees told me they didn't use all the rooms because they weren't safe! it was really in a life break, because we do not go back... It would be a shame if previous restaurant reviews and current hotel reviews deterred patrons, as the public areas of the hotel have been renovated and now have a modern and open feel. While the menu is somewhat limited, there are no complaints. For those looking to try the famous parmo, this is the place to be. The dish consists of a large butterflied chicken breast baked with béchamel sauce and topped with cheese, served with excellent chips, salad, and coleslaw. A full parmo is priced at just £13.95 and is well worth it, with a choice of six toppings available. We opted for the hotshot with jalapeño peppers, and even though we couldn't finish them all, half of a parmo may be enough for so...

it has tried to book a 2 nights. we wanted to get a call from the manager for 2 days. which hotel requires a manager to confirm a room that is what the recipeist for!!! at some point they said they were fully booked and. my wife accused of being miserable? we met with our son to dinner who had managed to book a room. there were 3 people in the hotel, of which 2 fish chips had been eating. the meal we had was ok, but standard-sub-grub. the 1 girl on the bar was very good and friendly, need to go to other bar locations to pull pints because the pumps did not work. the next morning my son discovered that they didn't make the breakfast, so had to go somewhere else to eat! in the second night wit...

avoid them when they can, the ground, ground floor, bar and restaurators all looked beautiful, what my nan would have called all the fur coat, but no knickers the rooms are extremely poor. wall paper hanging from walls, rust in carpets, broken wash basins, dirty floors, dirty laundry...left in the halls. at the arrival there is no prescription that they have to go through the bar to check, the staff were in order, not excessively friendly, but also not rude. we asked about the breakfast on the first day and were told that the restaurator is not open, nor in the following night it was open in the evening, some form of communication would be good. the coworkers seem to be completely uninterest...
