The Steamhouse - Carta

Just visited the new Steamhouse Bakery in Astwood Bank. I had the most delicious huge fresh bagel packed with lovely fresh produce. I highly recommend this lovely new little place. Professional lovely service too.

Sorry they are nice girls but really poor value. So pricey for a cold insipid bagel. Ordered to be told we have run out of red onion! There is a shop across the road that sells these! Zero flavour and at £7.95 it’s a rip off

We had Heather as our server and she was very friendly and cheerful while serving our food. She also recommended some delicious cakes. The portion sizes were just right and she made us feel welcomed and at ease. We would definitely return again. Ver carta

Wanted to go for a simple coffee and donuts breakfast, instead was only presented with fillings and chocolatey varieties. A basic principle when serving donuts is to start with the plain option, what an oversight. Apart from that lovely staff with decent bagels.

This restaurant does not offer great value, with a high price for not very large bagels. Those who have been to authentic US bagel shops may be disappointed with the portion sizes here. The service is slower than expected and the hash browns were slightly undercooked. The more I think about it, the more it feels like a 2-star experience.

I am surprised this restaurant is still in business. I decided to give it another try after avoiding it for months due to their lack of food options at lunchtime. To my disappointment, they were still out of bagels. It's a bagel shop, after all! The once popular spot with lines out the door now only had two customers quietly enjoying their coffee. Ver carta

Went to the steam house in Redditch, service absolutely shocking 6 staff and no one serving, all looking around and doing other things they're more interested in serving friends and chatting that serving customers. Since this has opened the service has gone massively down hill. Will not be returning which is a shame as been coming here since it opened.

Over priced for what you get almost £40 for 4 cokes, 2 bagels and 6 fries each ordered an extra side portion of fries as the waitress said you don’t get many with the bagel and the portion was smaller than what you would get in a happy meal. Bagels were just cut cold not even toasted. Nice girls working there but terrible value for money wouldn’t recommend or go back

The food was gross and overpriced, and the service was awful. The server threw my plate down in front of me, provided no cutlery, and it was hard to get their attention again. The breakfast came with a puddle of liquid covering the plate from the mushrooms as well as a block of unmelted butter plonked on top of cold toast. The bagels were rock solid, and the avocado was discoloured. We'd have told staff that we were unhappy with our food, but nobody checked back on our table.
