Just had the best carvery tonight, not been here for over 20 years, will return. Staff very friendly. Would highly recommend.

We just called in on the off chance of a table and they fell over backwards to serve us and we agreed to be finished by 13.20 brilliant Very nice carvery

Excellent! Squeezed us in during an extremely busy Christmas lunch session. Accommodated us on a good corner alcove table and quickly adapted the carvery to gluten free. Really good portions and very tasty vegetables. Superb table service which was unexpected and should be commended during such a busy time when the restaurant was full. Accepts dogs too. Warm and friendly welcome, gorgeous open fire. We went for my daughters birthday and had a lovely evening nothing too much trouble. Beautifully presented food, that was hot and delicious I had the fish pie We had asked if we could bring a cake and they were even happy to provide the cream! Would definitely recommend a visit we will be returning to try their carvery : Plenty of parking

Dropped in on an impulse as we were nearby and hungry. Super welcome from a regular member of managing staff. Topside beef and turkey were being served. I chose the beef and husband chose both meats. I can say that the beef melted in the mouth. The best I have tasted in ages. Veg and accompaniments were delicious too. We have been here on numerous occupation, but this was the best! Thank you.

BEST INN EVER! The food was amazing, my child loved the chicken nuggets! (A must have for kids! The drinks were delicious and the dessert was fab! The desserts are a bit grown up but they have some good desserts. They have a play area for kids, hilarious, the obstacle course was so fun! Toilets are always clean there, beer garden smelled like dog waste but overall a great pub, I should come more often! Ver carta

2nd visit to the Sun Inn, and as it was earlier in the week the carvery was not on offer which was a pity because their standard menu was limited and the choice I had of their Pie and veg was mediocre at best. It was clearly a microwaved effort and with little to commend it. Otherwise the comfort, ambience, and service were all good to excellent, but for the price charged, I thought the food was poor value for money.

Went for a birthday celebration. Chose something different to what I usually would, it sounded nice Vegan Lentil Dahl Hotpot, after waiting almost 3/4 hr in an unusually cold Pub it arrived. The hotpot looked more like bland cottage pie. The taste was okay but it was dry to eat and akin to young baby food in texture it was served with mixed leaves, which I left. I don’t like salad with hot food. My husband chose steak and mushroom pie with chips. It was hunt the steak and mushroom. Needless to say he didn’t use the gravy accompaniment. Our daughters meal was fine although as she didn’t want salad with hot food she declined it on her plate. We were very disappointed with our meals. Not the so...

For birthdays or odd roast meals out we have come here over the years , and when busy ,food.etc and service was good, even recommended place to others etc, but disappointed in our last visit, cold.night , the fire was going but still cold and drafty and radiators not on, they were stone cold ,and although rang up weeks in advance for table where we like ,I feel sure we had been moved on their seating plan , and that there wasn't an error in miscommunication. Us and other customers still eating but staff packing down areas ,blowing candles out and turning off lights which felt rude, at about 8.30ish onwards.
