"I had an outstanding experience at this place! It was my son's birthday celebration, and we booked a table for a small group. The food and drinks were fantastic! I must express my heartfelt gratitude to Tom, our excellent host, who took care of all our needs. A big thank you also goes to Oscar behind the bar and the kitchen team – the food was not only on time but also superb! Our visit here was truly memorable, making it a fantastic day out! Highly recommended! We will back!; Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"

Food was okay, but no where near relative to the cost. No check-back after food was presented and one meal came out after the other’s had finished. Price per person: £20–30 Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2

The restaurant was very noisy, but the food was delicious. The staff were polite, but it seemed unnecessary for them to enforce wearing a face mask while walking just 6 feet to the toilets. Despite this, the overall experience was nice and I would recommend this place.

Upset our evening. We enjoyed a happy hour drinks round(5-6pm). And ordered another round at 5.57pm however on paying was charged twice as much(full price)! On referral to unsmiling manager to be told till charges apply unswerving full price from 6pm. I did pay but could have refused . Can I suggest staff warn customers it will be full price just before 6pm cut off Price per person: £10–20 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Visited for breakfast, waited a little while for food (not that we minded). I had a bacon and sausage bap and my other half had a bacon waffle. We both had a cappuccino with caramel but there was far too much syrup, mostly undrinkable as it was really too sweet. Staff were really attentive. Parked in the free on Sundays car park and walked in which was really handy. Price per person: £10–20 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

"We 're looking forward to trying the Pheasant again on a normal day. We went on Boxing Day and it was pretty disastrous. Meant to be a treat but it certainly wasn 't. Starters were nice, no cooking involved apart from the pesto. Then the mains. The beef was grey, not pink as I was told it would be but it was tender. The roast potatoes tasted a bit old but there were plenty. The Chantenay carrots were very soft. The Savoy cabbage was perfect but the portion was tiny. The gravy was nice but we got a different variety when we asked for more. The Yorkshire pudding was the main disaster; it seemed old, and very hard to the point of shattering. Desserts. The sticky toffee pudding was fine although the serving of sauce was very mean. The clotted cream with it is, in my opinion, the best way to serve this pudding, it 's a relief from all the sweetness. The apple crumble was terrible; it came in a bowl with the custard already in it with the pudding. The apple was sour and the crumble was squidgy stodge. The service was fine although some staff not yet fully professional. We would have expected a welcoming hello and goodbye but that didn 't happen. Our overall feeling was that there was serious penny pinching going on with the mains and desserts but this is a very bad idea when you are judged on your last meal but we do intend to try again because it 's such a wonderful building and we 've had many good experiences in The Pheasant, perhaps before the present owners, we 're not really sure."
