"A nice pub in a beautiful location. On a good day it benefits by having a nice outdoor seating area where you can eat under cover . Food, rather expensive, we dropped in for a quick lunch time bite and their Fish and chips were £19.00 each. Firstly let me say the food was excellent however be aware they automatically add a 12.5% Service Charge. The Outdoor seating area was full so we sat indoors. I had paid for our drinks at the bar when we arrived so was surprised that our two fish chips now came to £42.75 which included a £4.75 Service Charge. We had in effect paid £4.75 to have our fish and chips walked 10ft from the Kitchen to our table. Whilst I am happy to tip for good service when ordering food I believe It is normal to have it walked to the table and this should not be an extra charge. We have a high minimum wage in this country and as far as I am aware staff are not dependant on tips. Also when the bill came they had included the drinks I had already paid for at the bar when we had arrived but these were removed when I queried it. So to end this review. A lovely Pub in a beautiful spot rather taking advantage of its location perhaps. Food good but expensive but beware the Service Charge. I won't be returning."

Such a welcoming atmosphere with attentive staff. A lovely place to be, like drinking with old friends, with a wonderfully tasty risotto for dinner!

A beautiful place to stop on our tour of some local villages with friends from overseas. We called in for drinks and plan to go back for food some time.

The food, service, and drinks are all outstanding. This cozy inn in the country Cotswolds has a beautiful setting, and their Sunday roast is definitely the highlight of the week. It will always be a top choice for me and my husband.

Terrible quality, ridiculous pricing. £19 for the burger, they’ve used the cheapest possible, Aldi Brioche buns, overcooked dense burger and a large handful of fries. No sides. Ingredients couldn’t have cost more than £1. Beer selection was generic and average. We suggest you drive 10 minutes to a far far better food pub. Won’t be returning. Ver carta

We have eaten at this pub often before and had a good experience, but our latest meal was very disappointing. The swordfish was ok, but the panzanella salad was ordinary at best the bread was practically inedible it was so chewy. My husband’s burger chips were average no side salad etc. The food alone was £40 a lot for such a mediocre meal lacking in finesse. There are lots of good pubs in the area we’ll go somewhere else next time.

Holly Terrier and I visited The Victoria Inn on a stormy Saturday in July. Delighted to find a dog friendly pun where we could escape from the rain and get something to eat. It was really busy but we were found a quiet indoor table and looked after really well. I chose the battered cod, chips and peas (best mushy peas I've ever had...tasted really fresh and like proper straight out the pod peas). The food was served promptly and all the staff were friendly, attentive and kind.

To make matters worse, when we arrived, they couldn't find our booking even though we had confirmed it with them two days prior. The server was unfriendly throughout the entire meal and seemed inconvenienced by our presence. We felt embarrassed for having recommended the place, and no one wanted to talk about the meal because it was subpar. It's hard to complain in the moment when the food isn't technically wrong, just not up to par. The automatic service charge felt like a slap in the face, but we didn't want to cause a scene since our friends were treating us. Overall, we won't be returning to this pub. Ver carta

This pub is truly unique and cozy! With its low ceilings, moody atmosphere, wood burning fires, and old-fashioned candlesticks on the tables, it offers a special vibe. Despite its quirks, the food was absolutely delicious. We were pleasantly surprised to discover they offered a meatless roast with plenty of veggies and gravy. The Sticky Toffee Pudding was a highlight. Our meal was reasonably priced compared to other pubs in the area, and we were pleased with the bill, which even included the service charge. Additionally, the pub is very dog-friendly, so feel free to bring your furry friend along for a visit.

Firstly, lovely atmosphere, great service and on the whole, nice tasting food. However, I would say that the menu is over priced for the quality of food that was delivered. A burger, too much sauce, soggy bun, cold chips just thrown on the plate with meat that felt over cooked. No side salad, coleslaw (which normally comes with a burger in my opinion! . £31 for a steak…. Fine…. But not for the quality of steak and presentation that was given. £10 for a “charcuterie board” to start. £10 for a few slices of meat on a plate. Would have expected a bit more for this price. Onto desserts, ordered chocolate torte. Was presented with a small small slither of tort, with a splodge of crème fraiche. No...
