The meal was great and as they said it was done on an Italian twist. The tea selection was unbelievable, so many different choices. The service was superb, we just wonder that why the place as empty as it was. For sure this is one of the place where you can have a proper Afternoon Tea.

My expectations for this little event was very high. Having read and heard so much really made me look forward to it. It came out as something pretty ordinary, compared to the bucks spent. Fine, try it you might like it, and it tasted well. But it is like an old british gimmick still kicking a lot of naive tourists around.

I had a great overall experience at this restaurant. The hotel is very elegant and the dining room is beautifully decorated. They offer a wide variety of teas to choose from. The staff is professional and friendly, providing excellent service. There are also good options for vegetarians. The pastries were especially delicious and we really enjoyed them.

They had a wide variety of teas to choose from in a menu book, and we really enjoyed the selection of pastries and sandwiches they served us. The staff explained the ingredients in each cake and sandwich, asked about any allergies we had, and provided outstanding service. If you're in the mood to splurge and treat yourself, I highly recommend this place for afternoon tea.

I had never experienced anything like this before and was unsure of what to expect, but the moment I walked in, I was warmly welcomed and made to feel at ease. The friendly team guided me through each course, making sure I was well taken care of. The Jazz lounge was stunning, transporting me back in time. The tea service was simply delightful, allowing me to enjoy every moment without feeling rushed. It was also very generous in offering a variety of flavors to tantalize all taste buds. Thank you for taking such good care of us.

Sad to say that our latest visit did not match up to previous ones. We were a group of 6 celebrating my birthday and my daughter had booked the Afternoon Tea knowing it to be a favourite place of mine. We had a bit of a wait for the the sandwiches despite us being the only people there. The English breakfast tea, though still free flowing, was grey in colour. When the scones arrived they were not fully cooked so they were whisked away and we were told we'd get more. They had to be cooked from scratch so we had to eat the fancy patisseries next....not quite the right feel to afternoon tea. We had another wait (obviously) while the scones were being baked. I booked the Wellesley Hotel as I had read the reviews and thought it sounded ok and was a reasonable price. I didn’t want to spend £70 or more on a festive tea as I had done in the past, so £35 pp was a good price. We arrived early for our seating but the table wasn’t ready. No problem there as we were asked to sit in the bar and complimentary nibbles were brought out. We were called in after 15 minutes and were advised that the lunch service had gone over time.
