"Stopped by a couple of weeks ago with my nephew's dog. The people that run it couldn't have been more obliging, even getting fresh water for my dog! It's the second time I've been and everything is freshly made and often home grown. Soooo tasty! It has a lovely relaxed atmosphere and the portions are huge aswell as the food being tasty. This will now be a regular eating place for me when I feel like treating myself . Meal type: Lunch"

I highly recommend visiting this lovely café. The food is delicious, the staff are friendly and the atmosphere is great. The prices are reasonable, with a meal for lunch costing between £10-£20 per person. I rate the food, service, and atmosphere all a 5 out of 5. Some recommended dishes are the Side Salad, Homemade Chips, and Sponge Cake.

What an absolute jem. The food was delicious with mouth watering sponges. The staff are friendly and polite. On my next visit to Wales I will make sure I visit The Flowerpot café again. "Due to covid restrictions the restaurant is only supplying pre prepared takeaway meals, but what a treat. Simple re heat instructions left us with a superb meal for two, of five star quality, for less than thirty pounds. "I've heard rave reviews from family and friend's about the Sugar Plum for quite some time and I'm surprised I've not visited before now. We booked both afternoon tea and the normal menu for a Saturday mother's day treat for my mum, ex wife (I know! and our youngest to avoid the madding Sunday crowd. The experience was excellent from start to end. We arrived a little early because of light traffic so had a browse around and I noticed a lot of happy diners and little white boxes leaving. We were to find out why later. The food was excellent and plenty of it. The afternoon tea for £20 I can say without doubt is excellent value. One of the best I've experienced and the best value I've had. But the star of the afternoon was our waitress (sorry I've forgotten your name . She was superb. Her interaction with Alexander and Agnes was brilliant as were also the other staff. It was an absolute joy and so lovely to experience. Nothing was any trouble. 5 stars plus plus. As for the little white boxes. There is so much choice you can't eat it all but you can take it home to share. We had a wonderful unhurried afternoon with excellent food and excellent service. Thank you for such a wonderful experience. You are now on the list. We'll be back."

"Came here this evening, ordered the loaded nachoes which were amazing, loaded with chicken, cheese and dips. Partner ordered steak medium rare, the steak was so tender I didn't need a steak knife, just melted in your mouth. We had some cocktails too which were really good. Staff were lovely and really attentive nothing was not too much trouble. Would definitely go again, only rated a 4 as I would have liked a window seat, we will mention this on our next booking, as the views onto the town are lovely."

"We decided to book a table here as we were visiting Ruthin and saw that it was dog-friendly. It is in a beautiful, quiet setting with stunning views and has a car park which is free to use for patrons. We took the opportunity to walk the dogs for a couple of miles in the nature reserve opposite, before entering the pub for some food and drink. Both of these were spot on. I tried the Hobgoblin session IPA and Butcombe ale which were both great. My wife had a lime and soda and a glass of Malbec, which was very nice indeed. We shared a starter of Pretzel Breads with Salami and Mustard. My main was the Pork Schnitzel and my wife had the Cheese and Pork Wurst with mash and sauerkraut. All of the food was just perfect. The portions were huge and the quality was spot on. It was all delicious and we were very pleased. I would say it was great value for money. The inside of the pub was large, yet very cosy feeling and the decor was both traditional, welcoming and full of character and stories. The owners are also very welcoming and have stories to tell too! I wish we had been able to stay longer, but we will definitely return for the food, drink, atmosphere and chat. What a find!!! Oh, and Cheesy Madam is something you'll just have to ask the owner about!"

"since they were obviously very short employees, the working people have made a great task to please everyone, from the reception to the dining room staff. we have booked with groupon. £135 for a standard room, 2 meals with a bottle of wine plus breakfast. the room was great with an amazing comfortable bed, tea and coffee as well as old fashion bathroom. dinner had a big choice, breakfast as much as they wanted. for this price, you really couldn't owe it. the inner of the castle is amazing and chew around the ground. After dinner we really recovered with a drink around the open fire where we met another local couple that was really friendly. the castle is located in a very picturesque old town that is worth a walk. we will definitely go back and enjoy dressing up and lord and dame of the home for an evening. heartily recommend a visit!"
