"Our excitement to see this café open allowed us an opportunity for some needed refreshment . Oh a cup of tea and a slice of cake or a little available small snack was what we needed . We were told by an employee sit down we come to you , so we did .. Another staff member standing behind the counter looked over and frumpy look called the cook who had the same frumpy look and went back to cooking , We : waited , waited , waited , waited and saw the frumpy counter woman still in the same spot , we waited and waited then left , maybe she was glued to the floor . We looked left and saw a pub named the Pheasant, oh drink and food , renewed enthusiasm and excitement we entered to staff who couldn 't do enough, so professional and warrants praise and a revisit , after a while we left and waited outside for our taxi , looking over we saw the cafe closed , ahhhhh it all came together and understanding that we was an inconvenience to the café as they was closing in half an hour after our visit , How long would it have taken to make a cup of tea for two? , us drink it , then how long would it have taken them to wash up the cups ? , they still would have twenty minutes for the woman to be unglued, our first impressions were of a cafe with many seats and a welcoming atmosphere, the woman employee sitting at the front table working was professional and welcoming the tables were clean and we kept our excitement as we waited , our excitement and enthusiasm faded, we left happily for the woman glued to the floor , we are appreciating the effort of the lady at the table who was seriously let down by the others , thank you for your efforts , apart from her professional customer service skills our Eureka moment to see the café open wasn 't to last , sorry to the staff member at the table I 'm very sure the service we had wouldn 't have been what you would have given , this review seems strong in tone but it 's our experience in here that day.. . I am not now able to show enthusiasm for another visit , I would have loved having that day and opportunity to empty my wallet a little and a little bit more on what would have been another visit , sorry no Eureka moment taken away that day."

"The service at this restaurant was impeccable, with truly kind and genuine staff providing lovely touches in the rooms and during meals. Both breakfast and dinner were delicious and beautifully presented. The rooms had all basic amenities and even included a sweet treat on the pillows. The establishment is fully dog-friendly and despite every table being packed, it didn't feel loud or busy. Overall, the rooms, service, and location all scored a perfect 5, making this a standout hotel for its romantic and quiet atmosphere."

"I am writing to express my positive customer experience with The OLD Mill Kent As an international Google reviewer, I travel the world to document my experiences at various establishments I want to share my humble opinion about the excellent service provided by Glenn Wilders, GM, and Jordan Upon seeing the beautiful building along the roadside, I, a first-time visitor from Malaysia, stopped by with my daughter for some food and drinks. The garden was clean and well-maintained, and we were warmly greeted by Glenn Jordan. The drinks were tasty, and the chairs were comfortable, which was important for me due to my back issues. The atmosphere and decor exuded a sense of community spirit, making us want to stay longer. The bar was clean, and the toilets were smelling fresh. As a reviewer, it's easy to write negative comments when things go wrong, so it gives me great pleasure to say that this wasn't the case. "Food was delicious- Bacon Brie granary bread toastie and peanut butter stack to share! Buzzing atmosphere inside and tables full outside too. Down one star as we weren’t greeted very well. First works said by mature waitress ‘Are you eating?’. No hello!? We weren’t asked where we would like to sit and handed a tea stain paper menu when sat at a table. Staff didn’t engage in conversation unless I did. No follow up after food served to make sure everything was ok and no more drinks offered. Basic customer service and opportunity to up sell were missed! Staff need more training in customer service. Also, toilets floor covered in toilet roll! Great half way point when walking from Ashford to the downs!"

"I discovered this restaurant on TripAdvisor and decided to make a reservation after reading the reviews. We were only in the area for one night because we had an early Eurotunnel crossing the next morning. The staff were welcoming and friendly. We started with delicious poppadoms, followed by an amazing pickle tray. I ordered the Garlic Chilli Chicken (not too spicy) and my partner had the lamb madras. We shared a pilau rice, a well-cooked garlic naan, and a keema naan. The food was fantastic and the staff were lovely. I highly recommend a visit to this restaurant!"
