Excellent dining experience with friendly, knowledgable staff. Highly recommend the taster menu with wines

food and service amazing, the staff were welcoming and attentive without being intrusive. Fabulous night out and a great pre-Christmas treat.

My partner and I enjoyed a wonderful meal at Thompson’s. I had the festive menu with an additional cheese course and everything was absolutely delicious. Service was also faultless. We’ll be back.

As above ! Food was nice ! Prices were fine ! Staff weren't very friendly Don't like paying overpriced for a soft drink though especially when you ask for a cola and you get a pint of rolla cola for about £4

Staff was rude and brought bill and payment machine before we ordered coffee. We felt pushed out the door as others were waiting for our table. Food was not great and the lamb was very tough Will not return.

My husband and I had the 7 course tasting menu with the wine pairings, every single mouthful was outstanding! It was truly delicious food from start to finish and the wine pairings were spot on. The service was impeccable, really friendly and down to earth, but also super professional and knowledgeable. The ambience was safe, relaxed, romantic and cosy. We loved the experience and will be back soon for sure!

Just coming from there I ordered chicken qorma,chicken biryani,and 4 nans. Chicken biryani it's not look like a biryani as Indian resturants have second thing the qorma came with adding sugar when I asked them they said its with cream that's why sweet...I said there is no where written sweet...they have cancelled that one.even that they charge 2.25 pound for each man.if you compare other places its 1 pound man maximum...waste of money

Having not been out for a while , we enjoyed our dinner at Thompson 's last Wed 9th Dec. The young lady was fine, wine pouring needs some training, and she forgot to offer us the Prosecco that came with the Celebration menu. All good as we were promised by the manager, complimentary drinks the next time! We 're soon moving very near to you, from the other side of St Albans, and was hoping Thompson 's would be our 'local ', so looking forward to try it out again!

Food good, no choice, tasting menu only, but tasty. Room dreary dark and lacking atmosphere. Over priced all in all. Toilets an absolute disgrace and the face mask police unnecessary as you walk to from loo. First and last visit, polite head waiter, rest zero personality. Hard times for restaurants and out to support, but, Thompson try harder please. Did complain about loos and over zealous beardy waiter doing the mask security, but, as expected no real apology or action. Still filthy as we left later.
