Cannon Hall Garden Centre And Thyme Bistro

We've been coming to the Thyme restaurant for over 10 years and it never changes. Yummy food excellent staff and the best owner who we class as a friend. A must visit.

Gave our name and asked to have a look around the garden centre while a table became available. Probably less than a ten minute wait. We enjoyed the food and the cakes were delicious but it’s really quite expensive for what you get.

Lovely lunch of BLT not your usual BLT and a pulled pork sandwich. Must have been a full shoulder of pork in the sandwich it was huge! Both were absolutely delicious. M8 or critical is that the pork and gravy were both quite salty. Great efficient service

Came to this hidden gem for a breakfast with family at the terrace side of the restaurant on a cold winter morning and was most pleasantly surprised by a warm welcome by a lady called Elvyra who took our orders and made us feel very welcome. The food came very quickly, I ordered Eggs Royal and a cappuccino, and it was absolutely delicious. Will definitely be back again! Ver carta

1st time visitor. Went for breakfast. Expected an expensive quick turn around tourist trap at the side of an expensive Garden Centre. So expectations were low. However the place is very well decorated and lovey and bright. Staff literally all over the place and very good service. Good quality food not cheap but felt it was worth the price all things considered. All very unrushed and enjoyed it a lot. Will be back.

Whilst we frequently visit Cannon Hall we normally eat at the dog friendly cafe up near the hall. On our last visit we noticed there were dogs in the outdoor area of Thyme so we decided to give it a try. It turned out to be a lovely experience, friendly staff, excellent food, it was such a pleasure to get away from the normal cafe offerings of sausage sandwiches or the full English. Instead we had eggs florentine and the avocado dish. Perfectly poached eggs ! The only negative comment is the handle on the coffee cup was weird, couldn’t get a grip on it. The waiter cheerfully change it for a cup with a usable handle. We’ll definitely be back, thank you.

Such excellent and accommodating service! My partner and I both ordered a garden open sandwich. I asked for mine to be vegan….so with no halloumi. Instead of charging me the same as most places do, the person serving me reduced the price and then asked me what I might like instead of the halloumi. I suggested some mushrooms, as the meal already included both avocado and hummus. When the meal arrived my partner and I were both really pleased with the food, portion size and value for money. However the best thing of all was the excellent service which was really inclusive. Thank you; we’ll be back (Ps might I suggest adding a vegan option next to this dish as there isn’t another vegan sandwich... Ver carta
