"On entering the reataurant by it 's small stair entrance it looks a bit aged and decorated with lots of stuff you 'd expect at a grand aunt or uncle 's place and you 'll realize this restaurant has been there for quite some time, which adds to its flair....The staff is very competent and friendly, even when the place is bustling. The owner is a friendly person, keeping contact with his regular customers and knows almost everyone around. The menu encompasses a vast amount of dishes (a small outline is listed outside the restaurant), from Antipasti, through pages of pizzas to Sardinian cheese selections. Since it was our “Pizza Friday” we went for the “D 'Amore” and “San Daniele”. A medium Margharitas is 5€, the most expensive Pizza around 10€, the others somewhere in between. I had high expectations, but was positively surprised nonetheless: The dough was the perfect thickness to be a bit crunchy and still stable enough, the spicing ideal and the ingredients fresh. What I really appreciated was the amount of cheese, which was ample and delicious. The fresh basil and tomatoes on the “San Daniele” were a perfect counterbalance for the intense anchovies. We had a Monica de Sardegna red wine along with the food, which prooved to be a excellent choice, as well a the house 's Grappa as digestif. The knives were sharp and well suited for the pizza cutting, which is rare at pizza places in my experience, so I appreciate this much. Payment is possible in cash or electronically by Maestro, Visa and American Express Master card I 'm not sure, but probably too. To sum it up: The restaurant is a perfect place to have pizza alone, as couples or in larger groups, if you prefer a rather homely atmosphere instead of crisp tidiness. Unfortunately it does not seem to be barrier free accessible. The restaurant also offers take out."

"it has already been said about this place. interesting location next to an aldi opposite the crowne plaza; make sure they book the participation; great outdoor area; very local facility; and above all excellent service.A tipp. we were in heidelberg on Friday afternoon, so we passed around 14 o'clock and asked if we could have a table for two around 19 o'clock - "no problems" - without that we would have done hard. we arrived around 19 o'clock and were a selection of tables, although the place was quickly filled. English menus were brought together with a very good wine map - local and Italian. we chose a really pleasant barolo, which was decanted and served - along with good brot, very good olive oil, balsamico and ice water 5 groups that arrived were greeted by the staff with hugs, handshake and time with obviously masters. there were masters of a traditional - such a restaurant is. three experienced waiters serve the tables and a newer person at the bar. the waiters were not university students like many heidelberger, but experienced profis. my wife and I thought you could see her – without words – for each other – an eating here, a drink there, a conversation with people elsewhere. at 20 o'clock there was neither a free table inside nor outside - and the three have mastered it all with bravour. we had finished our eating and enjoyed the last wein when a few came in without reservation and the waiters mixed the tables. we offered to move into the bar - as it is unlikely that visitors would return here. "no - thank you, but please stay and enjoy her wein - we will make it" I have read here some comments on the cost of meal. the meat dishes are more expensive, but not undamaged. the pasta dishes are very, very favorable and excellent. the fatuccine is fresh, and I asked if I could have it instead of spaghetti for the carbonara - no problems - and all for about 13 €. my wife had the ravioli. at the end of eating both teller were absolutely empty - and the service size was not small. Our best Italian food after 5 weeks in Germany, and almost the best service we have met if not the best. a place where a drink money is gladly handed over."
