"Well beware! Arrived on a quite wed evening. Showed to table outside (our choice) but still under cover - which was fine as forecast was rain and thunder. As a very minimum french speaker (got a d at gcse 22 yrs ago!) We were fortunate to have Google to hand. We had chosen food when the waiter came over realised we were British scowled at us in what looked like disgust and sent over a very nice young girl who translated that what my mum and dad wanted to order was raw beef. She slightly explained in much better English than my french that the 1st 2 meat dishes on the list were duck and lamb, we gathered they were with roast new potatoes from the menu which in a Michelin restaurant would have come with sub titles. So the order: 1 x large beers (not Heineken ) carafe of white wine, vodka and coke zero. 1 x duck dish 2 x lamb dish. What arrived..... beer, wine and coke. Dirty fork and steak knives. The waiter scowled again when I said the fork was dirty. The dishes that eventually came were literally meat, potatoes and sauces. The duck was ok very fattyThis however was miniscule to the amount of fat on the lamb... so disappointed 3 x erm conker size pieces of lamb with a bone attached (obviously rack of lamb) with loads and loads of fat attached. There was more blood attached to my lamb and bones than I have ever seen before. DISGUSTING! Is all I have to say and this cost us 22€. There was no veg-nor an option to order any on the menu and basically 3 mouthfuls of very blue lamb. The waiter came to collect out plates and when I said I was not happy he looked like I had personally wounded him. Saying it was a very expensive cut of meat in france, (which was impressive from a guy who couldn't speak English 10 mins before!!) All my dad could say was but it was raw.... go dad. The people who eat this dish obviously have never had beautiful trimmed rack of lamb before of the delights of crispy lamb fat as this was frankly.....minging. This experience set us back 109€! I now can't believe we paid, and if I had a better french vocabulary I would have refused but as far I can say I will Never return and beware those non french speaking people to steer well clear!!"

"We decided to forego our usual policy of being guided by TripAdvisor when in unfamiliar territory, & visited Les 4 Chats on a friend's recommendation - & how glad we were that we did!The dining room is spread over 3 floors ... all of them eclectically decorated & equipped in the style of an authentic 50s American Diner. Whilst this doesn't wholly chime with the food - which is unequivocally classic French - it does give the whole place a fun and funky atmosphere.Service is friendly, helpful and attentive - even when the joint is really jumping. The wine list is varied & extensive, & whilst it's not exactly you might call value, there is a good selection of wines by the glass/carafe. All that said, it's the food that makes the place - peripheral at it may seem, it's almost worth visiting for the house potatoes alone, as they're quite the tastiest & best-textured (not to say generously-portioned) accompaniment you could possible imagine. What they accompany is also highly delicious - we greatly enjoyed a flavoursome (& tenderly cooked) bavette a l'echalote, & a succulent chicken dish. The cheese course, nicely gradated from mild to strong & perfectly ripe, was also a particular highlight.Whilst certainly not in the budget category, you do get what you pay for ... & I would imagine that the 4 eponymous cats would be left looking like they got the cream if they dined here."
