Toby Carvery Thorpe Bay

Great today lots of good choices of veg, nice to see different bits. Server was attentive and thorough. No complaints at all. puddings were great too.

the staff was friendly and cheerful. really welcoming what makes my opinion a big difference. eating was pretty good and I was too full to order pudding.

The staff were really friendly and helpful and the food was delicious. There was an ample choice of vegetables and four different meats, the food was hot and the restaurant was clean.

This restaurant is one of my regular haunts as the food is always of the same, high, standard and is good value for money. There is also parking quite close which is a huge benefit for me.

I took 3 guests and they were very satisfied, in which did especially with eating and the staff. the Christmas was another tasty bite. have been there for years and will certainly continue!

I booked by fork and was quoted special xmas menu price £10.99 for 3 courses. at the arrival we were told that 3 courses would be £19.97!, although I had 2 confirmation emails from gabel and 2 of toby all confirm £10.99 bad show toby to not honor it and bad show gabel for wrong price. very disappointed!

we decided this morning to have a meaty roast today, and as usual it was superb, all ingredients were first class and the food perfectly cooked. the quality and the price make a good argument not to cook a sunday roaster home. the personal was very good and the service was excellent when considering how busy they were. we'll be back soon!

Have been eating here for years now. So disappointed! The restaurant was packed and there must have been 30people plus in the queue for the carvery. When I finally got there dishes were empty and the quality of the food there was not great. We had asked for a disabled table and was put in the bar under a speaker which was booming out the football. Granted they did eventually move us. The waitress was lovely as all the waiting staff there are. As I said I have used this restaurant for years now but I don’t know if I’ll be using it again.

I really love the food but as we can not dish up ourselves right now i hate the way everything is piled high right in tbe middle of the plate , i have to ask that my food is spread out and my yorkshire is put on last and always feel like i get a little attitude like im being a pain and an inconvenience which does alter my experience which is a shame.as it is a treat for me to eat out which is why i dont like my food to look like a plate of slop . Covid do one and Bring back self service or maybe we cam be given a glove to put on just before we touch any utensils .Loads of the staff are lovely and cant do enough and have to work too hard because of all this .Feel sorry for them if im.honest ....
