"Restaurant très simple certes (la majorité de la clientèle sont des ouvriers travaillant sur des chantiers avoisinant ou des habitués), nous étions les seuls touristes mais vraiment cela valait la peine de demander de quoi était composé le menu unique.Nous avons très bien mangé (alors que je suis extrêmement difficile).Menu unique avec 2 entrées dont un potage, plat, plateau de fromages, dessert, vin rosé et rouge à volonté.Les desserts sont variés et vraiment bons, la cuisine est "maison".Ce petit restaurant mérite vraiment que l'on s'y arrête avant d'entamer la visite du château, cela permet de plus de faire une balade digestive si on ne veut pas payer le parking payant du château."

"Un cadre agréable une vue magnifique une belle terrasse tables extérieures en quantite grand parking jeu pour enfants nourriture sympathique bonne sans chichi service agréable un chouette endroit à partager un soir d'été entre amis certains plats un peu chers pour ce qui est servi on a un peu l'impression d'être touristes ce qui n'est pas vraiment le cas mon fils y vient assez souvent le midi"

"Evening stopover for 4 days professional trip). Well decorated and clean room. Just the duvet which is much too warm, like in all hotels! I must not be like everyone else). The dinners were all quite good starter, main course, dessert). However, I would say that the portion of vegetables or side dish of the main course is really too tight. Bottled beer only, a little expensive €7 for 33cl). The biggest criticism concerns the breakfast without a buffet, it is served at the table 1 compote, 1 yogurt, 1 bread and 1 croissant per person). There is a lack of fresh seasonal fruit, cereals, salty foods, honey... In winter the area is a little sad. The price is a little too high compared to other establishments located in Beaulieu which is more lively and pleasant."

"As you would expect from the name this restaurant is located just under the famous Chateau Castelnau Bretenoux. It's essentially a cafe/brasserie with a large sun terrace, plenty of room, a private car park (you cannot get closer to the chateau) and a lovely large...grassy play area for children one level below the eating area so they are still in sight. Perhaps Opera night at the chateau was not the best night to try it out and we were advised not to take any of the menus which sounded tempting but have one dish and if time dessert. As it turned out our food arrived 5 minutes after we ordered it so we would have had plenty of time but no matter. Another minor annoyance was the waitress having problems with the technology relaying orders back to the kitchen. She had to run off mid order to try and sort it out and returned deciding to take the order by hand. These systems rarely in my experience work well, old fashioned service is best! Anyway to the food. I chose the Quercy Burger and my wife the steak in shallot sauce. The Burger was excellent, accompanied by a slice of Foie Gras in a cepe sauce. The Frites were not hand cut but cooked to perfection remaining crispy to the end of the meal. The only criticism would be the presentation, generous portions always look cluttered on the plate. My wife's steak suffered from the same pile it up mentality but again was good, tender, correctly cooked and accompanied by a salad and an interesting carrot and garlic side dish. Not sure why it also came with a cooked cabecou on a slice of toast but I think this was unnecessary. Dessert choice mostly (not only) comprised large ice cream sundaes which looked spectacular and wowed the children. Not really our cup of tea but we were impressed by their Creme Brulee, good creamy texture, perhaps the topping was not thick enough but was compensated for by a few nice fresh strawberries and a slither of caramelised walnuts (crisp and delicious). The service was friendly and they were quick to respond to requests which was good considering how busy they were. The wine list was rather limited but we did have a very nice Bio (2017) Labarthe Gaillac red at a very reasonable 20 euros a bottle. Good Coffee. Overall I would say it was a success so I think we will try it another time perhaps for lunch and choose one of the interesting sounding menus starting at E25.50."
