Trattoria La Barchetta

Lovely pasta, obviously good mussels as locals had loads, very keen and nice staff with decent english. Very little else along this coast at the moment and very few places to eat but La Barchetta came up trumps!

Superb food produced by a very good chef excellent choice of starters and mains. Be prepared to go get the menus yourself as the staff seemed to be either over worked or just lacking the ability to ensure guests are well looked after.

We stopped for lunch en route to Calabria. A bit out of the way. The exterior has a blue boat sitting in the street. However, the food was wonderful. My brother in law had the tuna sandwich. Very much unlike any tuna sandwich you would get in the US. Very nicely presented and fantastic.

We were looking for a seafood lunch were not disappointed. We were visiting the area and found it easily. It had just opened so not busy. The food was served quickly and was delicious. The grilled octopus, monkfish and the seafood pasta were all delicious. Service excellent friendly. Ambience good with a relaxed atmosphere and very clean. Something for all the family despite fussy kids! (This is mainly a seafood restaurant- not much else on the menu.

Metaponto Lido on a weekday afternoon in May is a fairly abandoned place. Luckily we found this trattoria with its outdoor seating, where the lunch menu was limited but good. They offered a few pizzas, pastas, and fish dishes. We opted for the pastas, way better than expected. I must confess that we got a kick out of watching two local policemen eating at an adjacent table--plenty of cigarettes, wine, and no one was in a hurry! As I said, this is a sleepy area off-season.

per cena abbiamo scelto questa trattoria all'interno del bagno nettuno e poi abbiamo mangiato in riva al mare. Abbiamo iniziato con spaghetti con auricolari ricci e pomodoro per nostra figlia. allora era la volta di un pezzo di cozze con pane croccante e polpo arrosto con burrata e pomodori secchi. abbiamo finito con un dolce con ricotta, noci e fichi. tutto accompagnato da vino bianco frizzante locale. tutti molto buoni, prezzi in linea con situazioni simili. piacevole serata e allegra. personale giovane, amichevole ed efficiente.

Second visit here. The service can be a bit slow. Ten-minute wait to order the drinks and then next ten minutes to get them. There was a party of 15 people and I guess they were busy with the big table. Anyway, my favourite part are their starters. I would just order several of them and skip their main dishes altogether. Delicious desserts, too. The only complaint is they couldn’t adapt a dish for me. All I asked for was to have simple grilled fish without the sauce. It seems odd to me they could only serve it with sauce. The only reason for that would be if the food was not freshly made. I hope it’s not the case.
