"We had dinner here during our short visit to Aylesbury mainly prompted by the great reviews and it certainly didn't disappoint in any way. As others have said, the team have the balance just right in terms of a genuinely warm welcome, background music that was eclectic and discreet enough to mask other guests' conversations, great food served attractively at a table dressed in crisp white linen in fact the whole restaurant was a tasteful blend of new and old. We had good advice about the dishes ad serving sizes and accompaniments (we had eaten a large lunch so didn't want to over order! . Each dish was delicious. The scallops (small plate served as my main course and it was amazing as was the cheese and chive mash that accompanied it. I would definitely return if we are ever in the area."

"What a lovely pub to stop off at after a long walk in the local area, really fresh beer from what tasted like clean lively pipes! The Wine choice is carefully selected also! the landlady and manager make you feel so welcome, kind enough to provide me with some lovely olives to accompany a juicy red wine! I was in heaven to say the least, next to a roaring fire what more can you want after a long dog walk that finishes just next to the pub! I cannot wait to go back! a truly delightful pub! Price per person: £10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"

"How disappointed were we when we booked a table for four at this restaurant. The meal and staff were adequate but the unpleasant smell that was around us was slightly disturbing. After finishing our meal we spotted behind my chair dog poo which I did not step in yet could have easily done so. On making this aware to the staff a man, presumably the manager, although he did not say who he was informed us that they are a dog friendly restaurant and are not responsible for the dogs that come to the restaurant with their owners! Surely the staff should not only clear the tables but also do a sweep around the area of where their customers are eating to see if the floors need cleaning after being occupied with customers? The manager? offered us a free drink when we were leaving and quite honestly did not seem that concerned about what had happened, refuting responsibility as a restaurant that has dog poo on the floor behind the chair where we were eating. God knows how I did not step in it when I pulled back my chair to leave. I have never had anything like this happen before when visiting dog friendly restaurants and pubs as have dogs myself, as do the other people with me. We will not be going back there as the way the problem was handled did not help customer satisfaction, the incident was handled badly and the response seemed flippant when considering the effect it had on us all!"

"avoid at all costs this indefinitely not an authentic turkish restaurant the we ordered 2 mixed doner kebab's, these were not make from fresh cooked meat and were frozen and either reheated on a hot plate or in a microwave and had never seen a gyros machine. tasted like fake cheap meat The salad was coleslaw one again no onions, tomatoes, cucumber or cabbage. the bread was half a slice of flatbread not turkish bread or even pitta bread. No hummus or bread while you're waiting and the chilly sauce was from a 5 lite jar not made on site either. The venue really carries noise when we were seated we could hear every word sentence pause and breath the female couple were saying who were 3 metres away. they also added a 12.5% service charge not disclosed on the menu. Also the prices have been increased dramatically from the prices on the menu shown here. We so wanted this to be a nice place and only saving grace was the lovely young waitress who was polite and well spoken."

"Really lovely staff. We had 3 vegans in our group and we only realised nothing was vegan on the menu after ordering our drinks. :I (They use shrimp paste in the curries) Our mistake. However they were able to make a really nice tofu and cashew nut vegetable stir fry for us. It was actually really nice! Good portion size too. Very nice of them to accommodate us. So if vegan beware they don't have anything on their menu hope this changes. But as it was out fault for not checking before i cannot fault them and they gave us really good service."
