I love ukai, it is always my go to for sushi. But last night was a bit different, dont know if it is a new chef or new ingredients but it was different

Had no prior expectations of this restaurant but we all really enjoyed the meal. The restaurant was quiet it was a very wet Tuesday lunchtime. The service was really excellent, the food arrived promptly and the portion size was perfect. Highly recommended, thank you! Ver carta

Randomly selected among the options available, we were mostly looking for a sushi restaurant. Indeed it has been a very good experience: Saturday night, quite crowded but great atmosphere with DJ set. Food was good and service very careful and quick. We reserved a table in the restaurant but at our arrival that was not yet ready. We stayed at the bar but it was good and we enjoyed the good music. Prices are in line with London downtown average

Really lovely food, great price point, too. Lots of choice of drinks and food. The gentleman waiter we had was attentive although the host didn’t offer an overly warm and friendly welcome. Saturday afternoon they have a very loud jazz band which I was not expecting and would likely not have booked had I known. The setting is really lovely though, would have been perfect if the music was even slightly quieter could hear them well enough without speakers on full)

As a fairly regular Ukai customer I was very disappointed with my most recent visit. The service was stellar as usual but the food was terrible the worst I’ve ever had there. We ordered 2 lamb chops, one medium rare and one well done both of which came out looking pretty similarly cooked on a bed of dry wilted salad leaves which can’t have been wilted by the heat of the lamb chops because they were very cold. The sticky rice was warm and bland. The staff were very helpful and apologetic but after microwaving the lamb chops and bringing them back out they were just very dry and unimpressive.
