"We arrived early (6pm) without booking and were offered a table for two hours. It's a nice atmosphere, even if we were the only ones. The staff was attentive and it was fun to choose our steaks and their weight. My experience of Steak... in France it's always rougher than in England, so I ordered medium/well and it came as I like it. Usually I would rarely order medium in the Uk. One of our steaks was cooked blue as our request, but had a large amount of inedible sine running through them. We mentioned the waiter who, after laughing with us in very good English, when we suddenly arrived, did not seem to understand?!? This was disappointing for the price (over 300€ for 4 adults and a child without wine). In view of the fact that the steak was appreciated on weight, we had hoped that they could offer to correct it, instead we were offered the harmful sine in a tupperware to take home We would have gone back for another meal, but decided to do so after our request for a gesture was rejected. Too bad it would have been a real favorite for our vacation. This would have been a 5-star assessment if the situation had been better treated."

This is a nice step away from the normal Savoyarde fare, with burgers and actual salads. Only thing is, I would avoid the pizza, they're huge but over cheesy and get very soggy in the middle.

Small restaurant, friendly service and limited menu choice. But what the cook in the semi open kitchen prepares, is ok. The food is nicely presented with fresh ingredients.Famous for steak and other meat preparations!

We had her recommended beef that they told us that it should be very special. At first they used it raw and when it came back, the meat was grilled, but it was not tender at all. Too expensive for quality. Good people and service. Ver carta

2 couple went for dinner. Restaurant is in centre of arc 1950…. Not where the map shows it! We didn’t order the steak as it was so over priced. Had chicken and chips and the chips were so soggy and brown they were inedible! Also...I ordered a legume soup which I found bacon and sausage in !!!!!! The other starters looked ok. The wine was double the price than in other restaurants for the same bottle. Avoid this restaurant.

We visited twice as a family group. Really cute Christmas theme interior and a warm welcome. We were just thinking about staying for drinks, but ending the food. Great selection of wines and champagne and the food is really good. The seafood shrimps... oysters etc are super fresh and prepared with care. The restaurant has a lot of Tyrolean style and is very cozy. The manager and the head waiter are very courteous and friendly. We will definitely come back. Thank you.

This was our main stay for post skiing drinks and we returned every day. Having two young children, being away form the main centre of Arc 1950 it was fairly quiet. Staff were very helpful and very good with the children.We did eat here on our last night. The serving staff were excellent but my wife and youngest daughter's meals were not at a standard I would have expected for the price. As my wife is vegetarian there was a very limited choice.I would return for an afternoon beer and crepes but not for an evening meal. Ver carta

We had eaten in this restaurant earlier in the week, see separate review, and not been bowled over by the food but we had heard good things about the take away pizza. So, on our last night in 1950, in very heavy snow we ran across the road from our hotel and gave it a try. This was one of the best pizzas I've eaten in a long time! Crispy base, generous toppings and quickly prepared for a fair price. Definitely worth a try if you're in the resort.Had to wait a month to post this follow up review because of TA rules, but wanted to provide extra info for anyone interested.

Four of us dined here with high expectations having read earlier reviews. The waitress clearly had a bad cough, but made no effort to cover her mouth while taking our order. 3 of us ordered steaks, which arrived with a limp salad and odd curled fried potatoes. The steaks were correctly cooked, but very tough and gristly. The lamb dish, described gloriously as Agneau avec herbes, was 2 small slices of fatty lamb, that was overcooked and unexciting. We couldn't bear to have dessert, and left with a bill of over 140€ with one modest bottle of wine and 2 soft drinks. The decor is lovely, and the adjacent table looked to have a nice cold meat platter as starter. For a place that prides itself on...
