Very welcoming and kind. Fresh food is served daily. Rooms are very clean, warm, and comfortable. Wifi is very strong and easy accessible Highly recommended

We stayed in the hotel and after a tiring day of walking, decided to stay for dinner. We were not sorry. The food is simple but great and we are just amazed by the low prices. Staff is extremely helpful and nice.

We had a meal here for my parents 25th wedding anniversary! Food was gorgeous and there was plenty of it and pudding was lovely as well. I had roast beef and then chocolate fudge cake! Love it here, friendly staff, good atmosphere and brilliant food! Ver carta

Saw the menu on Face book about their light lunch, very good choices of mains and puddings plus a cup of tea or coffee all for £9.50! We were served by 2 friendly members of staff Jen and Elaine. Just the right amount of food leaving room for sherry trifle, very tasty! We will be back, thank you

Would highly recommend this place. Booked at the last minute they managed to fit us in. Had Sunday lunch, food was excellent- couldn’t fault it. Service was again excellent. A lovely lady called Jen looked after us provided an extremely friendly professional service. Thank you. We will definitely be going back.

Lovely quiet and welcoming atmosphere, we had to book for a Saturday evening, meals start at 6pm. Great choice, well cooked and very generous portions. The staff were friendly and helpful and the prices were more than reasonable. We could highly recommend this Hotel, we will certainly be eating here on our next visit to Carlisle. Ver carta

The roast turkey was delicious and plentiful, but unfortunately, they forgot the stuffing. Priced at less than £10, it was a reasonable meal with roast and boiled potatoes, carrots, cabbage, and a cheese specialty. Despite the dated surroundings, it is a popular spot for locals who appreciate knowing what to expect and getting a satisfying meal.

I had a beautiful Sunday lunch today at this restaurant. I enjoyed a roast lamb dish served with roasted mashed potatoes, leeks in a white sauce with cheese, cabbage, mashed carrot swede, and a flavorful gravy. The meat and vegetables were all cooked perfectly. For dessert, I had a Sherry trifle which was delicious, though I believe they may have forgotten to add the sherry.

We visited the restaurant on curry night, which is a regular option on their extensive homemade menu. We ordered the chicken tikka, which came with rice, two small naan breads, a large dish of vegetables including creamed leeks, and a bowl of chips. To our surprise, we were also offered a free drink with our curry. After spending the day walking Hadrian's Wall, we found ourselves enjoying the meal more than we expected. The man next to me ordered the steak pie and claimed it was the best he had ever eaten, it certainly looked amazing. The decor was a bit old-fashioned, reminiscent of the 1970s, but in a charming way. The service was friendly and the meal was excellent value for the money. Ver carta
