Vegan Vice - Menú

Yummy vegan loaded burgers, absolutely delicious, lots of options, Smokey peanut butter sauce, cheesy option and tasty chips!

We had spent money on drinks and food (which never arrived without prompting), when one of the barmen approached our table stating that they apparently had an event on that night and we should therefor pay our bill and go!!! Soooooo rude!! Needless to say we are still here and won’t be going anywhere soon!!!!

The place is a bit of a style mix, with some punk elements, some 80s retro and some American diner thrown in. The burgers were really interesting vegan options, not the usual replacements and since everything on the menu is good for vegs I would totally recommend checking it out if you are looking for the vice option of food.

Serving staff forgot our drinks and didn’t bring cutlery. Chips were over salted, chicken strips coating was good but overall they weren’t that hot. Average vegan food which is overpriced given its quality and overall service experience. I don’t blame the staff, I blame the management for failing to equip them properly. Just go to Doppleganger.

We had burgers and chips. Burgers arrived cold, chips arrived long long after the burgers. Burger itself tasted ok but the bread was soggy and the salad wilted. Service was poor (forgot one of the drinks, had to ask for a napkin, generally gave the impression they weren't bothered. Also not in the least concerned when informed that the burgers were cold). It's a pity because i could see a place like this doing ok, it's in a good location near the University. And the food could be ok with a bit more care, if they can get the basics right. Popped in after walking past a few times and being intrigued by the outside decor. Only came in for a quick pint after uni as it’s perfectly situated by ARU. I have worked in pubs for 6+ years now and manage a bar myself and can say with confidence I won’t be returning. Charging London prices for a beer that tasted like sparkling water is not okay, whether it’s because there was water left in the lines after cleaning or something else but I have never had a more tasteless lager in my life. Either way, it shouldn’t have happened. Didn’t bother staying for food and found another venue to enjoy an actual beer at. To start the food was good and did impress ! Atmosphere was ok for a quieter night. Was a little disappointed after finding out no cocktails after a change of ownership. Seen as they use to be really good. The second let down was there seemed to be a lot of staff just walking around and sitting around doing nothing even though there were clear jobs to be done eg. Wiping the sticky tables. Third massive let down was the toilets, mens being out of order meaning I had to use the disabled toilets. Which had flooded floors and slippery door handles. We decided to attend Vegan Vice after trying and being pleased with a takeaway we had received from this restaurant on Deliveroo. We arrived and were pleased to be met with a vibrant, leafy decor and upbeat music. We were seated and given menus to read, however when we enquired as to the range of low alcoholic drinks the server was unsure and had to check… with the result being that they only had ONE bottle of 0% Heineken. Took about 45 minutes to get our food Saturday lunchtime because there was only one chef in the kitchen. The staff did let us know in advance though. I wish I could say the food was worth the wait, but it really wasn 't. The plain burger was... plain. If the bun had been a bit flatter, you could 've given me this burger and told me it was the vegan Mcdonald 's burger and I would 've believed you.
