"Business trip to Munich. This is the second time that I have had dinner here with a company colleague. I always stay at the Holiday Inn City Center, because the S8 train from Munich Airport (MUC) stops right underneath the hotel, and there is a large supermarket (and a Subway for you Americans), which makes this location very convenient. The Ver o Peso restaurant is about a 2 minute walk from the hotel - just exit out right, go down to the traffic light, turn left, and the place is about half way down the block on Rosenheimerstrasse 14 (past a very popular ice cream parlor that always has a line - think of it as your dessert place on the way back to the hotel!).Anyway, the caipirinha cocktails are as good as they are in Brazil (have been multiple times to that country), and are served in two versions: standard and a bit stiffer in a mason jar.The steaks are very good, my colleague had the top of the line dish (EUR 27.- so not a budget place exactly). I had chicken with a curry sauce, not spicy but nevertheless very tasty (EUR 18.50). To those who say it is overpriced, compared to what? Germany is not a budget destination for sure! Menus are bilingual German/English. The service was excellent, and in good spoken English since I don't remember much German despite having endured it in school for a long 6 years (many moons ago). The place is tiny and to get to the dining area you have to push your way through a narrow bar and excuse yourself a couple of times, but believe me, it is worth it.Some reviewers complain that it is too cramped, but think of it as a small Parisian bistro with little space between the tables and you get it. I even venture to claim that it is good for couples, with a nice ambiance. It was three years since I visited last time but nothing had changed and the Brazilian bartender still is dressed the same way with a funny hat (meant to be a compliment). If you stay at Holiday Inn City Center (or the equally nearby Novotel or Hilton), try this restaurant for something different from the typical Bavarian cuisine that I honestly don't care much for."
