"Always heart-breaking when a great LGBTQ+ bar is let down by one or two unprofessional unhelpful staff members. Tried to book a table for 7 people (10 days in advance) for my birthday, which happened to fall on a Saturday. Despite birthday parties being advertised on their website and being allowed to complete the booking online, they cancelled my booking with no explanation. I called the bar to help sort it out, and was passed to another person then was told that person does not deal with bookings, I left a number to be passed on and heard back a bit later. The person who answered explained very bluntly they do not accept bookings of more than 6 people online, they also would reject a booking at that time on a Saturday (evening 8pm). I asked if we showed up on Saturday would we be able to gain entry, they said no guarantee. I told them that their website advertises for these times, they reinforced that any more than 6 is an immediate cancellation. I enquired what is the point of the birthday booking system then if you can 't book. They replied you can, just not any more than 6 and not on a Saturday night. I said you need to advertise that as your website booking system allows more than 6 people and bookings for a Saturday evening. They said it 's to stop people showing up drunk in fancy dress and football tops. I said, so if I book for 6 people, no fancy dress, no football tops, we show up sober and one more person decides to join us, is that is okay? and they said no, they would not accept additional people and couldn 't give us a table. Blunt, no compromise, no recommendations. Was told I simply could not pre-arrange 7 people to arrive at 8pm on a Saturday night. Really disappointed as our group is mixed of queer and allies, we wanted a safe and fun night."

Great vegan food and lovely staff. Entertainment in the evenings are some of the best in Manchester, really worth a visit.

Amazing staff and venue. The cabaret is the best in town and I will be 100% returning to the venue. Could not rate it higher.

AJ was very nice with great customer service. It help me out when I didn’t know what to drink and he guide me throw all drinks available at the bar. Very good knowledge of the product and clearly a keeper.

Roast is under Parr, frozen vegetables, hard potatoes with no flavour and watery gravy, the Yorkshire pudding was also rock hard and very well done, would not recommend, other places within walking distance that do better

Lovely pub, staff ok, food was ok. We were shown to our table and given menus and then left not knowing if we had to order at the bar or if someone would come to take our order. When the food arrived it was over cooked and chewy.

I am obsessed with Via. My girlfriend and I traveled to Manchester from the USA for a very quick (one day) trip. AJ, the bartender, went above and beyond to make us some drinks that are common in the states but not in England. We ended up staying at Via for hours rather than exploring because the atmosphere, patrons, and staff were wonderful!

My girlfriend and I are visiting Manchester and we stumbled upon Via. Such a cute place with a good vibe. AJ has been the best bartender. I wanted to get my girlfriend a “girly” drink and no questions asked, he was super creative with it. Knowing we were not familiar with the area, AJ kept checking in on us to make sure we were enjoying our time here. I would 100% recommend coming here.

This is a bar we used to use a lot for many years but went off it as the area seemed to be in decline. We called in for the first time in a few years though and had a great time there. It is a unique layout inside is unique with lots of nooks and crannies. On this occasion, we took a table by the window which was great as we could watch all the activity of Canal Street in front of us. The drinks were well kept and not too expensive. It attracts a interesting clientele and the service was really nice indeed.

My friend was visiting Manchester for the day and had never been to the Gay Village, so we stopped off for a drink. Via has always been my favourite bar on Canal Street and today was no exception. We sat outside after being served by a really lovely bar man and the sun was shining. Sadly it then started raining, typical Manchester ha ha! So we ventured inside and found some quirky chairs in a little alcove. We had another drink and once again the service was good and drinks lovely. Great atmosphere, lovely seating areas inside and out, never any complaints here.
