"This was my go to Italian the pizzas in particular are great and I have been on many special occasion including last night but not anymore. When I didn't want cabbage as a veg with my chicken and wanted a few chips and salad...instead the waiter said I couldn't have both so I became indecisive. He got really angry, started raising his voice etc. Unfortunately this made me frightened and I couldn't think straight. At this point, had it not been for the occasion, I would have walked out. I have been a waitress and I would never have spoken to a customer like he did."

Really enjoyed our meal here on a one night stop in the town. A good and varied menu, busy atmosphere and friendly, hard working staff made a good evening. My seafood rissotto was probably the best I've had anywhere.

A last minute search for an overnight stop turned up this place. Big mistake. A pokey back bedroom and a pricey restaurant meal the size of a pot noodle (but tastier). And a car parking nightmare forcing an early but relieved departure.

Clean, very friendly staff [all of them from boss down which is so rare] great food, reasonably priced, everything you want from an Italian restaurant. We walked in without a booking at 8pm on Saturday night and they squeezed us in with a smile. Ver carta

The lasagna I ordered was served partially frozen in the middle. The overall quality of the food was just average. I was very disappointed, especially since I had initially been pleased with my meal. I do not plan on visiting this restaurant again.

I had a pleasant dining experience at this restaurant on Wednesday evening. I was surprised to see how busy it was for a weeknight, but I was grateful that we had made a reservation. The food was delicious and the service was attentive without being intrusive. We also tried a dessert, which was also delicious. We will definitely be returning soon, as I can't believe I had never eaten here before.

Pleasant enough venue and ambience. Perhaps our visit highlighted the importance of choosing a meal that a particular restaurant might do well. My spouse chose a chicken dish which seemed freshly-prepared and very tasty, I chose something (diced lamb) which I will say nothing more...about other than the constructive criticism that was offered when it was asked why I had not eaten it. The starters and dessert were quite nice. Ver carta

Thank you to Tibby and staff for looking after us so well on Friday evening. The food was amazing as ever and they cope so well with the big groups. All of my guests were raving about the food and I am sure several will...become return customers. This is such an excellent restaurant for anyone, family, romantic night out to large group celebrating. I have been there for all of these reasons. If you love Italian food you will love Villa Bianca.

We dined at this restaurant twice during our stay at the hotel (please see separate review for the hotel) and were pleasantly surprised, especially since the hotel only had average reviews. This restaurant offers an authentic Italian experience, reminiscent of what you might find in a small town in Great Britain. We mainly stuck to the classic pizzas and pastas, which were delicious. The service was efficient, and we appreciated that they had a bar where we could enjoy a drink before our meal.

"We had a disappointing experience during our stay. The bedroom was quite cold, and despite asking for the heating to be turned on, we had to sit in our coats. The bathroom was freezing each morning, and the dining room didn't offer much relief either. The heating was activated for just one hour, which meant the radiator was cold again when we returned to our room. Their cost-cutting measures significantly impacted our enjoyment. We raised our concerns multiple times, but there was no one available when we settled the bill. At £100 per night for bed and breakfast (totaling over £200 including dinner), it was frustrating to be so uncomfortable. Another guest mentioned they had complained about the heating during their previous visit, only to be told there was an ongoing issue. It seems they simply won’t turn on the heating. We won’t be returning, especially since it’s quite a drive to get into town. Regarding the room, we were assigned an attic room (Room 8). It had many steep stairs and low headroom in places. While the bathroom was nice, it was also freezing. The towel rail was pointless since it was stone cold, and my husband had to skip his morning shower due to the chill. We ended up moving to Room 7, which was smaller but slightly warmer despite having a cold bathroom. The bathroom door didn’t shut properly, and the lights were all or nothing. The next morning, we moved our belongings back to Room 8 since they finally decided to turn on the electric wall heater—which they could have done from the outset. It only took the chill off for a little while. On our last night, we experienced a brief boost of heat, but it only lasted an hour. When we returned after dinner, the room was already cool again. As for nearby activities, there’s a park across a busy road, but everything else requires driving to reach shops and restaurants. Safety-wise, the hotel faces a main road, and there are very few parking spaces available (around four); otherwise, you need to park on the main road. Walking to town is possible, but it takes about 15 to 20 minutes downhill. In terms of food and drinks, the breakfast was decent. When asked if we wanted toast, we received just one slice on the same plate as the cooked breakfast. After asking for more, we had to wait a while before we were given another slice. Dinner was acceptable but nothing to write home about; it felt overpriced compared to the excellent authentic Indian restaurant we found in town, which served great food at better prices and opened at 5 PM. Overall, I'd recommend bringing warm clothes for both the bedroom and dining area; we even saw another guest sitting in her coat the entire time."
