"Visited for a birthday lunch with my grandchildren, Situated across the road from the seafront, we arrived at 12.30pm it was busy however we only waited about five minutes for a table. I was quite impressed with the theming and the size of the lounge, much bigger than it looks from the outside. Service was very friendly and interactive, we ordered pancakes and smoked salmon to go with our eggs but both were unavailable so we had to have other choices which was disappointing as the lounge is well known for its breakfasts. The food was very good but there was a wait of about half an hour. The toilets were very clean and there is a baby change room as well."

Popped in for breakfast. Lovely varied menu, served by a very friendly waitress. In the photo is the egg brioche. Superb food, and very good value.

Visto Lounge Torquay Visited the Visto Lounge today Sunday 27th Feb. A querky place but the Industrial Vintage look worked well. It was busy, we were advised of the time for food (30mins). Shown to a table quickly and ordered food which arrived ahead of the estimated time so pleased. Service was good, food good too so a happy customer.....VFM good. Many thanks Julian Amanda

Seriously delicious food, in our group of four each dish was declared the best thing we'd had on holiday. Excellent selection and it was hard to choose which to order. The drinks selection is fantastic, I was sad that this restaurant isn't in my home town and I'll probably never be able to come again, because the staff are lovely, the ambiance is comfortable and relaxing, the food delicious!

I came in on my own and wasn’t made to feel awkward. The staff were friendly and polite. I had a Lounge Bacon Cheeseburger which was delicious! To top that off, it was ‘Cheeky Monday’ so i could have a glass of house wine or a pudding. I rarely drink so I managed to squeeze in a pudding! (Well, i was walking back to my hotel! I needed the energy!!!! Would definitely come back. It was clean and down-to-earth and excellent value for money! Yum!

Really eclectic decor, mirrors of unusual shape, random portraits and for those of a nervous disposition a terrifying clown above the bar. The staff were all charming if not a little overworked. The food was a solid 7/10 the wife had bang bang chicken whereas I could only manage a fishfinger sandwich due to the heat. They were doing a brisk trade in cocktails, however, I stayed with a classic Moretti. There are three to four restaurants clustered together so most tastes can be catered for.

So I found something my food at first I thought it was caramelized sugar so I put them on the side but them quite a few turned up, later on I decided to taste it and it didn’t taste anything AT ALL, it also makes a dent if u really bit hard on it. We did ask them what it was because we feel it’s plastic or some sort, the staff came back from the kitchen and they said it was something left in the pan when they cooked the egg, but definitely not plastic. I dont know it looks suspicious. We didnt finish the rest of the order.

"From the off, everything was bang on point. The warmth of the welcome, being taken straight to our table and offered water and an aperitif promptly. We, a party of three, opted for the set lunch, which offers very good value for money. £29.50 for two courses, £35 for three, with two options for each course. Two of us opted for the baked Roscoff onion with pearl barley. Simple ingredients but beautifully cooked with a truly sublime brown onion sauce of such intensity, it lifted an already lovely plate of food to another level. The other person had the ponzu cured mackerel which she pronounced lovely but she had serious food envy over the onion dish. The main courses were grilled hake, which again was sauced to perfection and a grilled bavette with a vegetable medley and a pea? puree and a meat jus. We added a small dish of dauphinois at £5 which complimented everything very well. We drank a good and reasonably priced Rioja Blanco. No room for dessert sadly. This restaurant is not cheap but there is a difference between cost and value and The Elephant offers very good value with the set lunch; it allows you to sample really very good cooking at a price that will not break the bank. The normal a la carte menu is around double the price but on looking at what this offered, I would say that it again offers good value for money, being a step up in choice with more expensive ingredients. This is a serious restaurant. Go there. You will not be disappointed."
