"Post-covid: as good as below but now with added takeaway and garden, plus a sensible one way system. Special brunch menu was Amazing and the seasonal menus are always great. Book in or miss out! Pre-Covid: Lovely, friendly, relaxed restauranty pub with excellent service. Delicious, beautifully presented food to suit a range of tastes. Fantastic selection of drinks including local craft beers, cider, soft drinks and gin. Staff were flexible and accomodating to meet the needs of our group, including children. Even drinks available for the well behaved dogs in the bar. Highly recommended: eat, drink and be merry!"

"I begrudge having to write this review, however I am appalled by the service (or lack of) from the red lion. I’ve tried to contact them several times and have been ignored, which is especially frustrating since the manger replied to a review a few days ago. We made a booking of 20+ for my partner’s birthday in June. Although the food was lovely, the service was not. Firstly, we were left waiting a while for the food even though it was preordered. Secondly, each person had to go to the bar to order drinks as staff did not take orders from the table even though it was on one tab. They were clearly understaffed on the night, considering the size of our party. Thirdly, there was an issue with the preorder of desserts and some people did not receive a dessert and were not informed until the rest of the group had theirs. The lady dealing with this was also quite rude and did not offer a resolution. Finally, there was a dispute about the bill and I’ve emailed the manager several times as some items cannot be attributed to anyone in the party but have not received a response. Emails were sent on 28/06, 03/07 and 15/07. It really is a shame as we’ve been here before and enjoyed the food, but it is safe to say that none of the party will be returning and the customer service received is unsatisfactory. Again, I would have been happy to resolve this but feel forced to write a review due to the lack of response."

"I popped into the Pytchley for a Sunday evening impromptu dinner with my 17 year old daughter and her boyfriend. They were also kind enough to allow us to have a Pytchley fillet steak double and box one up for my father who has Parkinson’s and couldn’t get in today due to his mobility which really did make everyone’s day. The atmosphere in the bar is just to my taste warm and friendly with enough background music so there feels like a nice vibe. We had the steaks 6oz fillets an 8oz and the roast pork Sunday lunch all exceptionally cooked. The peppercorn sauce is that good you could eat it in everything. I literally licked the plate clean and didn’t even feel guilty about! The staff were very kind and thoughtful and I would like to thank Rachel, Joel and managers Nat Phoenix for looking after us and also going above and beyond and sorting the take away for my father. We LOVE THE PYTCHLEY 100% recommend for any occasion."

"Avoid this place! Although it’s advertised as a dog-friendly pub, it really isn’t. We arrived at 7:30 PM with our two dogs, hoping to get some food before the 8:30 PM closing time listed for meals, but were rudely informed by the bar staff that dogs were not allowed inside. We were told we would need to go outside with our drinks. To make matters worse, the bar lady told us that the kitchen had already closed for the night. The owner was just as unhelpful. If you have dogs and want to enjoy a meal in the evening, steer clear of this pub! Service rating: 1 star."

"I enjoy high quality food and good value for money, and I was not disappointed at this restaurant. I ordered the Sunday roast sharing platter for myself and my partner and we were served a generous portion of delicious chicken breast, perfectly cooked roast beef, and large pork belly strips, accompanied by buttered carrots, cabbage, parsnips, roast potatoes, and homemade Yorkshire puddings. The meal also came with gravy and sauces, all served with a friendly smile. It was so good that I returned two weeks later with more family. The White Horse did an excellent job. The price per person is between £20-£30 and I would rate the food, service, and atmosphere all as a 5 out of 5. I highly recommend the Sunday Lunch at this restaurant."
