"on christmas eve we enjoyed a three-course menu, it was a selection menu (2 elements for starter, three for haupt) except dessert. we started with a good suppe (made with truffle oil and chips) and duck breast with mango sauce, very delicious. all in all. in front of the hand we served brot (oliv and brown, with crimped cream) and a goat cheese ball as an appetizer. the main thing was cooked with ratatouille and criminal roast potatoes (all baked in special butter) and the other dish was cartoffel dumplings with coleslaw (German style) and light callbsal. dessert was coffee truffle chocolate mousse with canned walnuts. all in all we had a very good dinner, eating was nice. would certainly recommend this place. we were in the hotel, but everyone is welcome to eat."

"Went here for dinner at around 9pm. ATMOSPHERE: -Restaurant is spacious i.e. lots of dining tables with some of them being in different sides of the room. This would be more appreciated in a crowded time but we came during midweek so I guess that's...why it wasn't so busy (Literally just my company and 2 other families dining there at the time) FOOD: -Since it wasn't crowded at all it's probably why some of the food must have been left there for ages and wasn't replaced from the early evening. MAIN DISH (CHICKEN): -I only eat chicken so I took all of the dishes with chicken and SADLY, they all tasted the same to me even if one is with sauce and the other is without; It may have been due to the large amount of salt put into them whilst they're being cooked because the main distinct taste that I could remember was its saltiness. (SUSHI): -The vegetable sushis were pretty plain but more effort into the presentation oof sushis were made with the non-veggie sushis -Rice tasted a bit dry already but then again, this may be due to the number of hoours it's been left there uneaten since the early start of the evening buffet. (DESSERTS): -Ice cream was delicious and came in 6 different flavours but I only had 4 of them: Chocolate, strawberry, lemon, walnut -It was a nice contrast to the saltiness of the main dishes -Fruits (watermelon and melon) were sweet and it was nice and refreshing. OVERALL: Given that there's more people, perhaps the dishes would look a little more fresh, but I don't think the flavour (saltiness) will change, so maybe tune down on the salt and more on the right seasoning of the meat dishes so that each dish may actually be remembered by its taste and not feel like each dish is the same. Besides, a little less saltzig woould do my health good!"

"Die Pizzeria Ponticello gehörte in den letzten Jahren zu unseren Lieblingspizzerien in Trier. Auch nach Massimos Abgang wusste man weiterhin mit der Qualität der Gerichte zu überzeugen. Uns gefällt die angenehme Atmosphäre und recht moderne Einrichtung. Der Wintergarten/die Sommerterasse ist sehr schön und liegt - obwohl an der Straße - recht ruhig. Kurzum, eigentlich hat dieses Restaurant alles was wir uns von einem sehr guten Italiener wünschten.Dennoch wurden wir vor kurzem maßlos enttäuscht bei unserem letzten Besuch – und es wird auch definitiv unser allerletzter Besuch bleiben! Wir waren zu viert und hatten drei Pizzen und ein Nudelgericht. Bei den Pizzen fiel auf, dass die Zutaten die schlechtestmögliche Qualität boten. Die zum Glück nur sehr spärlich verlegte Salami war widerlich, der Käse schmeckte wie Pappe (ist das dann Analogkäse?), die Pilze kamen mir vor wie aus der Dose. Der Pizza fehlte die Würze und der Teig war teils angebrannt, teils noch sehr „labberig“. Am Rand bis zum inneren der Pizza war ein durchgehend 3cm breiter Streifen auf jeder unserer Pizzen, welcher nur und ausschließlich mit Tomatensauce bestrichen war. Hier hat man die anderen billigen Zutaten direkt ganz weggelassen (war auch besser so), dadurch konnte man die Pizzasauce aber ganz gut einzeln probieren und hier hat einfach der Pfiff gefehlt. Ebenso beim Pizzaöl, dies schien einfach nur irgendwelches billiges, ranziges Pflanzenöl zu sein: leichte Schärfe und das gewisse etwas wie früher? Fehlanzeige! Die Nudeln (Pennette Arrabiata) haben ebenfalls etwas „pappig“ geschmeckt, hier war die Sauce jedoch deutlich besser, das Gericht bot leider 0,0 Schärfe. Immerhin: der servierte Parmesan war gut und schien frisch gehobelt. Ein Garniert wurde diese – ich möchte sagen sehr freche Kundenabzocke – noch durch schlechten, überheblichen, unaufmerksamen und sehr langsamen Service. Der Abend war ruiniert, die Liste guter Italiener in Trier wieder um ein Restaurant kleiner."

"We stayed two times in the Schnitzelhaus within a week, the first time with 6 people and we were thrilled. The food was served at the same time for everyone, hot and mega tasty! The salad for food was very tasty, fresh and varied. We had Schnitzel in different variations, were all fully satisfied! However, we were less enthusiastic about the second visit, rather disappointed. The table that was assigned to us after prior telephone reservation was not in the restaurant itself but in a seperate room in an outbuilding. A large room with about 6 tables, bald, zero cozy, slumber light, no table decoration, reminded me of a club square. We sat at a table for six people, so really uncomfortable. The food was good, salad and schnitzel again world class, the sauce was unfortunately almost cold and the pommes were swung in a soup plate. I had the impression of the room was improvised on the quick because of too great demand, unfortunately this has damaged the mood somewhat. Despite all, the Schnitzelhaus is highly recommended because simply delicious!"
