"Our group of walkers visited the Western Arms for lunch today. A warm welcome, with a good range of beers including traditional hand pumped Greene King IPA and Old Speckled Hen. A good range of pub style reasonably priced food on the menu, which apparently is under review. The service wasn’t particularly quick, but it was pleasantly executed and worth the wait. Between the ten walkers we enjoyed six different meals plus three different desserts. We are happy to recommend the Western Arms and we look forward to returning before too long."

I recently visited this restaurant for the first time in a while and I was very impressed with the food. It was exceptional and I couldn't find any faults. I highly recommend it!

Been there a few times recently, the high standard is quite consistent. The food and service is good, and not too expensive. Food takes a while to arrive, but it is worth the wait.

Quite simply love this place, the food is always cooked well and reasonably priced and the staff treat us and everyone else exceptionally well! Recommend the gammon and eggs and copious amounts of Stella………

First time we have eaten here normally just stop for a drink. Usual pub grub comfort food much needed on a cold day! Was pleasantly surprised. Best food we have had out for a long time. Definitely will be there again. Excellent value for money too, staff welcoming. Ver carta

Well there was good quality, and big quantities of food. It took a long time to arrive but I suppose good quality takes time. The food was served by friendly staff. The tables were a bit close considering social distancing, seemed to meet possibly the bare minimum requirements.

Went for the first time for Sunday lunch.4th July 2021 ordered three roast dinners.....all arrived smothered in gravy.....Yorkshire pudding burnt black as well as stuffing and some roast potatoes unable to eat 25% ...did mention to waitress who smiled but made no comment....coffee cold......so needless to say first and last visit ..

After completing a 10-mile bike ride, I was in need of some food. It had been a while since I last visited this restaurant, but I decided to give it a try. I opted for the Sunday Roast with beef, and was impressed with the generous portions and delicious flavors. At £10, it was a great value. The staff were friendly and welcoming. I would definitely recommend this place and plan on returning in the future. Ver carta

Like a previous reviewer. we visited on Sunday, 4th July. Quite a long wait before our order taken, and then a further 35 minute wait for carveries to arrive. Our Yorkies were also burnt we just didn't eat that part, but poor quality control in allowing that to be served. The stuffing balls were also crunchy and overcooked. The rest of the food was fine, although the belly pork portion was pretty small, and even the peas were still hard.

When we arrived at the restaurant during lunchtime, I could tell that it was a popular spot for locals as it was quiet with only a few patrons. The food was excellent, with my friend enjoying the well-presented Macaroni cheese topped with chopped spring onions. My husband and I shared a tasty Chicken platter with delicious dips and tender meat. The salad was also well-prepared and flavorful, with a tasty dressing. Another friend ordered the sweet chilli linguine which was beautifully flavored.

"We came here on a last minute hunt to find a Sunday roast with family without much expectations. However when entering its a lovely set up and we were greeted by Lee and Alison who looked after us for the meal who just to begin were absolutely brilliant, they really care about the customers and make this place extra special. Now for the food you can get a 2 or 3 course meal so everybody made various selections but all had starters. Most went for the Aarancina which isn't your usual starter with a Sunday roast but for here it packs alot of flavour and is a great way to start the meal. They have a great selection of alcoholic beverages I went for a simple beer. For the main roasts we had a variety of meats I wanted the pork but sadly they had no crackling which was half the reason for ordering but if I am being honest after eating the meal it wasn't missed out the meat was tasty full of flavour but the sides were the key. The roast potatoes were of a top level usually when you eat out they are never as good as eating at home, the Yorkshire were huge and tasty, gravy brilliant with plenty to go around and lots of veg and cauliflower cheese on the side. Honestly this was excellent a really good roast probably the best I have ever ate in a resteraunt. Some of the others had the lamb shank which was huge and had great feedback but the beef was great and so was everything else. So yes check it out eat in and eat some great food in a nice setting with absolutely brilliant service you won't be disappointed."
