"we went to the wherry yesterday than in the opposite, how happy cow reviews recommended and there is little other to choose from here. we asked ourselves at the bar and the staff went helpful to ask in the kitchen over vegan options. we have been offered a veggie tea or vegan burger/patty and we have opted for the veggie tea. we waited 15 minutes for a table and spent another 15 minutes waiting at the carvery. when we arrived to our veggie tart from the carvery we were told that they ordered the burger for us because the veggie tart milk in the pastry. I know it was recommended here so I wanted to warn that the only vegan option is the burger that comes with a vegan gravy. the veg was beautiful (just avoid the maic both carrot-sweet and cartoffel yorkshire puddings, and the gravy they offer a vegan) and the burger was more like a small piece of nut dust. they have a nut-loaf that contains ice, so make sure they ask for the vegan burger. it was quite depressing that you had to run slowly past the meat in the cave, as the wait was very long and slow, but it was Sunday and the place is very popular with carnivores. there are no dessert options apart from simple obstsalat. I thought £10.95 for a small burger and some sweet with heavyweight was quite a lot to pay as we were charged the standard carvery price. I feel that vegans at such a place never have priority. if they are in the opposite and short on options, they should not make up for a long time near to large amounts of meat, and are happy to have only one option to choose, this is the place to go. we probably wouldn't go back soon."

Very limited vegan options in Lowestoft so this place is a god send every time we are here visiting family. Nut roast and roast veggies is a huge feed and the roast parsnips are amazing.

great eating, the carvery is the best, meat is always excellent with a great selection of sweets. the bratkartoffels are always excellent. had a family dinner there on Sunday (28/1/18)....Excellently large staff. Ver carta

Hello, I visited a month or so ago and was told that the nut roast contains egg.. I had to have a jacket potato with beans it's the only thing Vegan available. You could have a roast with just vegetables but this was going to cost the same as a normal roast.

I noticed that the last review of the wherry was in 2017, so I thought I would put in an update. they still do the Vegan dart, it was really good and there was a lot of fun between which you could choose and the filling was really nice. if there were vegan dessert, I would give it five stars!

I had dinner yesterday with my family, including my 1-year-old who has significant allergies. The staff was incredibly helpful and accommodating, ensuring he could enjoy a safe meal. I was very impressed by the measures they have in place, and we truly appreciate their efforts! We can’t wait to return! Thank you once again for a stress-free and delicious dining experience! I was told that the only option was a spicy bean and sweet and secured it and the accompanying gravur were vegan. the baked was hard as nails, and there was a bean in the slightly seasoned ratatouille-tart. I made the mistake of pouring the grue on my food before I taste it. big mistake as it was bad. tasteless flour and gravy browns. in this day and age, it is pathetic that they offer so little for vegans. Yes, we can go somewhere else, but sometimes we want to dine with our meat-eating family. my family was appalled by my meal and we will not go back there.

The carvery here is currently probably the best vegan option in the Lowestoft/Beccles area. The nut roast isn't vegan but when I asked staff at the kitchen about this they kindly swapped it for a vegan veggie tart with vegan gravy for no extra cost, just had to go back to the kitchen in 10 mins (got my veggies in the meantime) and it was ready. The roast vegetables are all excellent and cooked in oil. Everything else in the carvery is vegan (including the stuffing) apart from the mashed potato, yorkshire puddings and the gravy (tart comes with your own anyway).
