"We call in here frequently on the way to and from Cornwall and quite often have breakfast , brunch or lunch. Last Monday we both had gammon, egg and chips for lunch. Excellent as always, decent gammon steak, nicely cooked and presented. On Friday called in for brunch. Hubby had Hearty breakfast, which is his favourite but he sometimes has the Brunch. (very similar). Thick bacon slices, lovely sausages with tomato, beans, mushrooms, hash browns and a choice of toast or fried bread. I chose one of the specials this time and it was so good cheese onion, bacon and tomato quiche with wholemeal pastry. Lovely he4by flavour too. Staff are always welcoming, friendly and efficient. Well used restaurant with lots of locals as regulars too. I don't recall having a bad meal or service here over the last few years. Highly recommended!"

Very clean, but very unwelcoming within 45 minutes of closing. All toilets shut for cleaning and greeted with “we aren’t doing food”

Small restaurant located at Okehampton services. The staff is friendly, the menu is good, the coffee is excellent, and the restrooms are great.

Poped in for a bite on our way to Cornwall, the lady even gave us a extra plate so we could share as my better half didn't want a full meal, and plenty of salad so perfect

Called here yesterday for something to eat and drink, just before 3pm, it was closed, however the opening hours on the door did say closed 5pm, last orders 4.30pm, the closed sign was on, and the door locked.

We were impressed by this clean, modern cafe, just off the A30 near Okehampton and we recommend anyone to call. We only stopped for tea/coffee but found the some great staff serving well priced food and drink.

Great breakfast. Clean restaurant and friendly service. Came here years ago and the place has been revamped and redecorated. Coffee here is far better than Luxtons up the road as well. Food was good. Will come again.

This is the cleanest, friendliest, and loveliest roadside services restaurant we have ever been in!, serving good value and good quality food , can’t believe we have never found you until today , after driving past for over 20 years on our way to Cornwall . Really well done to who ever runs this establishment.

I went to this restaurant on a Sunday and was pleased to find that it was open earlier than most other places in the area. The interior was very clean and inviting, which was particularly appreciated on a cold winter's day. The staff were friendly and the food was fresh and of excellent quality. I could not find any faults at all. I would definitely go back if I were in the area again.

I have frequented the Whitehouse restaurant many times over the years, but yesterday was the first time I tried their roast dinner. It was honestly one of the best I have ever had in the area, with a choice of 3 or 4 meats and portion sizes. I opted for the large roast chicken dinner, but the smaller portion would have been sufficient. The plate also had a good selection of vegetables, all cooked beautifully on a hot plate. We will definitely be returning soon. Additionally, it is worth noting that this establishment is locally owned and operated, not part of a national chain, so I feel good supporting a successful local business. Keep up the great work!

"Gidleigh Park is a country house located in a wooden wally in Devon. It is quite hard to reach the place on a very narrow road, which is very beautiful, but apparently during the winter larger cars can’t even get there. Gidleigh Park houses a two-Michelin star restaurant with Michael Caines as the main chef (the restaurant was recently voted number 1 restaurant in the UK by the Harden’s Sunday Times Food List 2014). Gidleigh Park also has bedrooms (apparently all individual in style and design) and you can stay there for the night and then wonder in the gardens of the estate, which I saw some people doing when I was there. I was visiting Devon and my boyfriend chose Gidleigh Park for lunch on a Sunday and we took the long and narrow road to Gidleigh Park. The inside of the house was very old and had a lot of charm. It had eclectic art and antiques and different style rooms, the lounge had different tables, chairs and the bar was done up in a completely different style. Gidleigh Park showcased British charm and elegance. You could chose to have their signature sample menu for £140/ person, but instead we went for the much cheaper version, their lunch set menu for £44/ person for 3 courses (you could also have 4 courses for £57). Also note choosing dishes a la carte would set you back £115, so the lunch menu seems like the cheapest way how to enjoy Gidleigh Park. We did not have any wine, but apparently thy have an amazing wine cellar. The three course lunch menu included a small appetizer, a starter and a main course and you could choose from one of the 3 starters and one of the 3 main courses. Our appetizer was “goat’s cheese foam with beetroot jelly, candied walnuts and granny smith apple”, but as my boyfriend does not like goats’ cheese he had a tuna tartar as his appetizer which actually looked better than my appetizer. I was not to"
