"My twin brother Stephen and I were pub hopping down Smithdown Road when we decided to drop into The Willow Bank Tavern, a great pub I always look forward to visiting. I love the look of this pub ,its a proper pub, multi roomed ,many original features remain ,great decor and furnishings including a superb looking wooden island style serving bar, tv's to enjoy the sport and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub both inside and outside looking out onto the busy and bustling Smithdown Road. We were here on a Friday afternoon, we track and traced and sanitised our hands and we were allocated a table were we ordered a guinness each, guinness was poured in the correct manner even allowing time for the all important settle, we just kicked back and soaked up the great vibe in this busy and popular pub. My guinness was superb, a thick, creamy and most importantly iced cold guinness bursting with taste, on a hot afternoon a totally refreshing brew, my only gripe was that my delicious guinness was served in a Stella Artois glass ,a bugbare with me .We really enjoyed our guinness in here and although our visit was only fleeting as on every other visit to here we had a great time. The Willow Bank Tavern is easy to locate along Smithdown Road, a road and area teeming with pubs, bars and restaurants. Opening hours are;Monday to Sunday, Midday till Midnight. A wonderful, traditional pub that if you find yourself on Smithdown Road it's most definitely well worth dropping into."

great pub, personal friendly, nothing is too much annoying, good choice of beer and eating is excellent! we had two steaks, medium and well done, both were absolutely recommended on the place!

a tasty place we only discovered after we were 10 minutes away in the last 22 years! one of the pulsating number of genuine traditional pubs, friendly service, a series of well maintained real ales and a decent menu. we will see much more!

I am not local to the willowbank but occasionally call in. I think the last time I was in there was during the Christmas lockdown releif... I have called in tonight and the welcome and service I got from the young barman Charlie was fantastic. As our drinks got low he was straight to the table eager to refill our glasses. My mate is a real ale geek and Charlie was recommending ales from a lad that look like he drinks blue wicked... His recommendations where spot on. He certainly knows his stuff and is attentive, pleasant and clearly an asset to the pub. Val the licencee was lovely too... In fact all the staff where great... Lovely to be made to feel so welcome as a non-regular by all the sta...
