"This review is for a family of 2 adults and 2 children.Plus points, the kids enjoyed there meals, 1 had the breakfast and the other had scampi, both from the adult menu's. I can confirm the bacon was good for the breadfast meal.Minus points The Lasagne was dry, in fact I've never had a drier lasagne, there was no sauce at all. The other adult had cottage pie, this was spoiled by too much black pepper. I know it's becoming a custom to add black pepper to everything, and we didn't ask, but it spoiled the dinner completely. As has been previously mentioned, the veg are all tinned, the drinks were acceptable. Pop and milkshakes and a cappuccino. It was quite expensive in the end for what we had £35 for 4 meals and 4 drinks (kids only had small drinks, or if they were full size, the drinks are really small too).A rating of 2, with stars lost for the poor dinners and price. If you go I would stick to the obviously frozen items, such as scampi, or the tinned can't go wrong items like the breakfast."

The food is delicious, the staff are always welcoming very polite, the place is always clean. My husband, daughter, grandson and i go here every Sunday in the season and when we have a break down in Ingoldmells. Where else can you go and have a Sunday roast with a pudding starting at £4.95 any day of the week. (it will cost you £1 if you want cream, ice cream or custard with you pudding) Highly recommended.

Walked in and their were no customers. 5 members of staff around and none of them bothered to greet you with a hello which I thought was rather rude. I ordered a Sunday lunch and a normal breakfast. The bacon was very hard and the portion for money was very poor. However the Sunday lunch was enjoyable. Also the young lad that was working behind the counter used his fingers to move another customers food around on the plate which is not acceptable.

The cafe looked clean well laid out, beautiful desserts on display. The food tasted nice but so expensive for what you get, breakfast doesn't include toast, so by the time you get your toast coffee on top it cost 2/3 more than anywhere else I've eaten breakfast. The biggest let down was the miserable middle aged man behind the counter who was bordering on rude the way he spoke. Get some customer service skills or swap places with the youngsters who were cleaning the tables, they were courteous friendly.

"I've been in Horncastle on business twice once on a Monday, once on a Tuesday and both times found the town mostly closed for business in the evenings. This time, just as I was on the point of deciding people in Lincolnshire must have a tradition of fasting on a Tuesday evening, I came across The Bull. This attractive old coaching hotel looked inviting, and the staff offered me a friendly welcome. The warmly lit, high ceilinged interior of this Georgian inn was full of diners (Yes on a Tuesday! Take note, other restauranteurs of Horncastle) and the ambiance was convivial. The selection of beers behind the bar was good and the two pints I drank were tasty and well kept. I was presented with two bar menus, a separate burger menu and shown a fish menu and a steak menu on the wall. (I understand tapas is also available at weekends). Quite a choice! The bar menus largely consisted of what you might call traditional pub grub of the best kind. Within that massive choice, there must have been at least half a dozen dishes I was really tempted by but, eventually, I plumped for the cauliflower soup followed by the pork belly, mash, peas and apple gravy. Both courses were outstanding and extremely generous in size, especially the pork belly. My only disappointment was that I hadn't room in my distended belly to squeeze in a spotted dick for pudding! My bill, for such a large and excellent meal, was very modest. All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner at The Bull and would definitely eat and/or drink there again."
