"enjoyed our evening in james st it was the best culinary experience of our trip! we had been happy to see this evening as we had a few hit-N-seals in the course of our trip to belfast. we were not disappointed and had the fabulous evening. we were quickly welcomed and sitting. the place is beautiful and spacious. revitalized and environment. the bar is great and would like to come back, only for drinks at the bar sometime. we ordered cocktails immediately. an Irish gin negroni and a traditional old fashion. my neger was absolutely excellent. I think the old fashion could have been done with real sugar cubes and not sugar syrup, but it wasn't too bad. we were quick to choose our wein. we chose a beautiful juicy red, the cline, the old vine zinfandel, 2019. to begin we had the ham hock terrine with piccalilli champ bread and some scallops with boar bell. the hanging-hock court was the best ham-hock I had. the homemade piccalilli was something else. really nice crispy and sharp sharp to help cut through the hammock and the champbrot was delicious crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. the scallops and black bells were disappointing, as they lacked no salt or genuine aroma or texture between them. we still ate it and shared the rest of my hammock. we both decided to go for the co. tyrone 270g fillet steak with sides of champ and truffle parmesan chips. red wine and pfeffer sauce. they were fantastic steaks. Actually, I didn't think I would finish mine, but I did. I have met the right choice with the jus and the truffle chips. they went so well together, the dryness of the parmesan and sweet, slightly greasy of the jus. the steaks were perfectly cooked. a medium and my medium rare. fantastic aroma on the grilled outside of the steak and beautiful texture when they pierce. we both agreed that the champ was the best champ we ever cost. it was hot, soft, so well aromatized with hot butter on the top of the copper serving pot melt. it was really the most incredible champ. I was too full of dessert. but my sample ordered the sticky toffee pudding sundae. the team was friendly enough to make me an espresso martini that was both decaf and not a sugar syrup. it was brilliant. we both managed to work our way, although a surprisingly light sticky toast desserts on Sunday. the team was fantastic. very friendly and chatting to us. the bar team did not stop, I had the pleasure of standing and watching them make a great selection of drinks and cocktails. the waiting staff were also very friendly when they check in with us at comfortable places to ensure that we were in order. we felt very well looked around. the service was very good, we didn't feel any hurry, it felt like such a free time in this restaurant. when we come back to belfast, we will be back in absolute terms and we will definitely recommend others. "had a wonderful meal here recently. the aromen and combinations were fantastic. we had a cashew, methi-style pornstar and a corma pornstar. both were amazing as the next-courts and the popadoms. I eat here and abroad a lot of Indian food and found this one of the best I have eaten so far. the it area above is quite atmospheric and I found the staff quiet and somewhat slow, but eating was all we were interested. they have an early bird special I found to have limited dishes on my taste. I enjoyed the main menu much better definitiw it is worth when in belfast. I'm sure it's one of us who went by or drove past due to the situation, but next time...read more"

"Our favourite place to go when we visit Belfast and yesterday 16th we visited for my partners birthday. We had been given a voucher for Christmas and it was the first chance we had to use it. We had tapas as a starter between us, I had the salt and pepper scampi as a main and my partner had a burger with chips...for dessert my partner had a brownie and the girls kindly put a candle on it for him and sang happy birthday. Anna was our server she was just lovely,very attentive and nothing was a problem to her. We wanted 2 cocktails that weren't on the menu but they were able to whip them up for us. We like to try different places in Belfast but I can honestly say the Barking Dog is the best for quality food and service...eating out is becoming more of a luxury for some people these days so when you do decide to dine you want it to be a great experience....I can honestly say yesterday was one of the nicest meals I have ever had the whole experience was delightful...thank you can't wait to our next visit"

"Very few 100% vegan companies in NI. This is a small cafe on Ormeau street. At the time of the visit, only takeaway and outdoor eating was permitted by law. The opening hours have been reduced. The menu will be published on the Facebook page on Thursday evening. We pre-ordered our lunch and some vegan groceries. I had eggplant stew. It was warm and delicious. It was a bit light but usually comes with garnet bread. My husband had the chickpea sandwich and soup. I taught him a sandwich and it was amazing. Flavorful and creamy and generously filled. I'll try that next time. You can go up to the hatch and order too. It seemed very popular today. We walked to beautiful Ormeau Park and ate on a bench. I will definitely return. "Great place with amazing staff. My first time here, came in just before closing time and lovely Hannah recommended me a tasty sandwich to try as well as making a meal with really delicious chips too. Can't fault it and the staff are helpful and so nice. Would recommend to anyone looking a takeaway lunch."
